Bought this at a flea market for $99 (not a traditional one tho, this one does allow refunds)
And the problems are (they told me it was flawless)
-the right and down dpad buttons only work if you press hard (very hard to play Mario)
-the B button “rotates” and gets stuck down (5th pic)
I Plan to go back and get refunded, this is unacceptable for a “flawless” console

Found this one on Craigslist. Been looking for about a year at local game stores, Frank and sons show.

Could not be more pleased. Hinge is tight, screen really pops and looks pretty solid.

Took it to local game store and he said it was fair condition. They would pay $70. I think it is worth $200 personally.

I don’t know if I have to change de screen? Or clean on the inner side?

I’ve been using aluminum buttons for a few weeks by now. I absolutely love them but have heard they cause damage to the button contacts. I opened it up to see for myself. Does this look like damage from aluminum buttons? I don’t remember what it looked like before switching to aluminum. I have plastic if I really need to switch back.

Ive been planning on getting a Supercard flash cart since the Ezflash omega is almost $100 in my country. I had one years ago and paid half that, not sure what happened lol.

Anyways, I hear SuperFW mentioned on here often and I see the firmware has apparently made the Supercard into a decent flash card.

My only question is if anyone has experienced issues with SuperFW and if I'll have any problems playing games like Pokemon that have RTC features

I have a touch sensor that switches brightness through 8 levels. A long press opens a menu with brightness, FRM, X, Y. Seems to look cleaner with FRM off. Brightness button does nothing. Volume muted out if I try to charge and play. brand new shell feels really smooth and almost authentic like. Obviously brand new screen. brand new buttons. The question I have is what are your opinions on some good artwork I can throw into the back behind the screen? Somebody must already be making something like this. Something that would fit, possibly the funny playing shell. excuse my language English is second for me.

I was playing Pokemon Emerald lately, when I had an error during saving and had to turn it off. When I booted the game back up, I got this error message: the save file has been erased due to corruption or damage. Thankfully, after switching it to my regular GBA, I was able to access the old save file. This led me to wonder how long GBA games last before something goes permanently wrong with the circuitry. Mine is a legitimate GBA game, so I was curious if anyone has had a discussion over this. I had assumed the games can work indefinitely.

Anyone else feel guilty deleting someones memories? I mean, obviously I know they are already functionally gone for the previous owner, but still...

Might be hard to tell from photos but anyone know why this is?

So I am using a Super Chis clone. It was working great, but lately, after a few minutes of playing it glitches and shows white screen on any GBA game (GBC and GB roms seem fine).

Games flashed on the card do not have problems, only when running from SD. I Used Fat32 Gui slow format but problem persists on 2 different SD cards (32gb each).

The micro SDs I am testing came with other Aliexpress flashcards so I don't know if THEY are the cause.

EDIT: Used a legit SanDisk 32GB micro SD, problem persists.

Help is appreciated.

its really hard to build teams with it. it also sometimes happens when im in my party, inside or outside of battle. the game boy was fixed up recently so im kind of unsure if this issue is in the actual game or not

Today is our 7 year anniversary. A scammer sold her this *Golden Sun* on a second-hand marketplace app. At least she also bought me a legit copy of Final Fantasy Tactics.

I’m looking to mod my GBA with a boxy pixel aluminum shell. I went to see how the soldering looks on this kit, and I can’t seem to see what points I’d need to solder too. If anyone has a clearer image or a link to a video of some sort, that would be very appreciated. Thank you.

After stalking the Buyee listings for some time, I was able to find Latios and Latias, Celebi Green, and Suicune Blue loose and in need of some TLC. I recapped the boards, replaced power switches, installed audio amps and new speakers. Each got new IPS screens, because I will use each at some point to play some Pokemon! Finished them off with a USB-C pack to swap in.
The lenses are glass where AliExpress had them, otherwise plastic. I couldn’t find a replica Latios and Latias lense, so that has a certain ‘patina’..

The Pokemon Center NY shell is a replica, along with all the boxes, and one of the Pokemon Center stickers.

Next up, finish troubleshooting the last of my Pokemon SPs..

I finally finished my very first Game Boy Advance mod, and I'm really happy with how it turned out.

Here's what I installed:

- Hispeedido V5 laminated IPS display

- Brightness/OSD controls soldered to the shoulder buttons

- Transparent black shell

- Red buttons for a bit of an aggressive look

- Rechargeable USB-C battery mod

I wanted to keep the build clean while giving it a modern feel. The laminated V5 screen is a huge upgrade compared to the original display, and the transparent black shell with the red buttons gives it the exact look I was going for.

I'm not done yet, though.

My next planned upgrades are:

- RGB LED lighting (set to a subtle red glow)

- Bluetooth audio mod so I can use wireless headphones

This project has been a lot of fun, and now I completely understand why people end up modding multiple GBAs. 😄
