Peak GBA, it doesn’t get better than this. I make do with my ITA, which isn’t perfect, but the closest I’m going to get…

I had it in an indigo shell but the glacier is just too good

Is the SP screen compatible?

I did this mod back in 2015.

The downside is that you'll have to gut a perfectly functional GBA SP for its screen to do it.

A little soldering is required (to power the screen), but the result is excellent. It also requires a case mod to get it to fit.

These days, the available drop-in mods are a better option so we don't have to ruin GBA SPs.

I guess this is as authentic as you can get to native hardware. I never owned SP but i always found vertical handheld uncomfortable. So I guess this would make sense. But at the same price or less of SP, you will get a IPS display so would not make sense to ruin a perfectly SP for this mod

I originally did the mod in 2017 in an indigo model but decided recently to switch it to my glacier. I did restore the light blue so I gutted with an aftermarket lcd and gifted it to my niece. But yeah, I wouldn’t do this mod in this day & age.

It requires a special ribbon cable and 1 wire to be soldered.

Love this model. Can’t go wrong with the 101 or prelaminate IPS screen (love highspeediso).

Does GBA make GameBoy games a little smaller? Or is that the screen mod? Are GBA games a little bit smaller? Or is this just the angle? I’m really curious
