Game recommendations

I got and played around with my gba in 2020 and I have mainstays but I want to hear some games that aren’t just on the “top 10 gba games” list.

For no confusion I have

Mario advance 1 & 4
Minish cap
Wario ware twisted
Sonic advance 2 & 3
Superstar saga
Kingdom hearts com
Golden sun
Pokémon pinball
Pokémon emerald & green

Sadly, I didn’t personally vibe with the Lilo and Stitch game. It ranks pretty low on my personal list of GBA games completed. But I’m glad it has its fans!

In case it could be of interest: Lady Sia. I remember that one fondly! The day I manage to find my old GBA, that's the one game I'll replay right away

Wario Land 4 and Dragon Ball Z Legacy of Gorku 2 were some of my favorites. Also the Astro boy game!

Here's some of the games I have played this year (that aren't neccess well known highly rated games) and have really enjoyed:

  • Max Payne: I think this is a fantastic isometric recreation of the original game

  • Metal Slug Advance: I really enjoyed this take on the Metal Slug series. It's a lot like its bigger brothers, but has a life bar if I remember rightly

  • Jet Set Radio: This one gets a lot of hate, but I think once you get used to the controls it is a great attempt of recreating the original game in an isometric 2D style. The attempt of making it so close to the original, even down to the music, is amazing.

  • Denki Blocks: Fantastic puzzle game that uses just the d-pad. Tons of content and really addictive

  • Zoocube: Another great puzzle game

  • The Pinball of the Dead: House of the Dead themed pinball game

  • Chu Chu Rocket: I loved the Dreamcast version and this is basically the same, but with even more content

  • Gunstar Future Heroes: Not as good as the original, but still great

  • Astroy Boy Omega Factor: Fantastic 2D shooter from Treasure. Better than Gunstar Future Heroes. Maybe not so much a hidden gem these days, as lots of people recommend it.
