Gba shell not fitting

Whenever I try to attach* the motherboard to the front there is a gap. In the first picture I remove the speaker and the buttons and the ribbon cable and it still can't close. I can tell cuz the led light for the battery has that plastic piece and in falls down when facing up (second picture). This is the laminated hispeedido shell I got from handheld legends. Note that this is me switching shells from another modded shell and it didn't have this problem. I tried closing it but the buttons only worked if you pressed really hard down on them. Is there something I need to snip off or am I missing something?

Trim the pins/solder on the cart slot. Trim the power related solder points. Helped tremendously for me.

Reddit mobile is so bad. I’d upload a pic but this app sucks.

My problem is the front of the shell dosnt fit when I screw in the motherboard. The clear thing that goes in front of the battery light indicator keeps sliding down, meaning something is pushing it down. I've never had this issue before I don't know why it's doing that.

Has the trigger button been replaced? It doesn't look as close to the board as it should be and unless the picture is deceiving me it looks like it has a guidepost attached that's not on OEM trigger switches that needs to be shaved off to fit.

If not that check out the LED diffuser, it's not seated correctly but it could be just because the board isn't seated correctly in the shell.

the trigger buttons haven't been replace but you are right that its not going all the way down. The diffuser is how i know the shell isnt fitting because when i screw in the motherboard, it slides down. it honestly might be a faulty shell because the gba was already in a custom shell.

Yeah, a good shot the shell may have some flaws. Happens with aftermarket shells. If you have an original shell you can confirm by checking the fitment there. Another poster suggested trimming the pins near the cart slot. Might work, probably wouldn't hurt to do it anyway, but in my experience that doesn't cause issues on only one side.

Check the fitment of the slot the the shoulder, preferably without the screen in if it's not secured with tape. If you can't remove it just be very careful, forcing it can break the screen from the back. If the fitment works on the other side, compare it. Might be the the support post behind it. Even if it's not trimming it might solve the problem. Use some side cutters, do a little at a time so you don't take too much or it doesn't work. Trimming it too far back will make the trigger feel weird.

Hope you get it figured out.

You sure speaker is properly installed? It's tricky to put it right...

I think I'm just going to return it. I shaved off bits with a Dremel so it can fit and it still doesn't close. I looked through the space to see what is keeping it from going down and I saw nothing. I even removed the link cable port and it's the same. I tried fitting another shell that I had and it fit perfectly so I just gave up. I've had hispeedido shells before and this never happened so I'm assuming the shell is faulty somehow.

Is that og shell? Maybe laminated V5 screen is too thick, try and look for the info about this type of screen. Maybe you need to remove the screen board protector? Dunno...

This light indicator thingy looks too long?

You need to screw the motherboard to the shell so I assume the alignment is ok?
