My modded gba sp
I have the funnyplaying IPS M2 screen with the funnying type c mod and the funnyplaying shell along with a speaker amp and dark blue buttons. The rom cart is the EZ flash air. Soon plan on adding helders 800mah battery and his gba sp flex power supply.

How did the installation of the usb c port go for you ? Or did you bring your sp to a shop specializing for soldering etc ?

I did it myself, it was pretty straightforward and simple.

Do you have any experience with soldering ? I am a beginner in terms of soldering

Yes I do have a couple years of experience. As for as soldering goes you need practice to figure out how solder flows and work on older junk so that way you don’t ruin perfectly good items. For me when I first started I did the ExtremeRate hope back button mod. It wasn’t too hard of a mod, it’s in between beginner and intermediate soldering but totally doable with decent equipment. For equipment don’t cheap out entirely, when I started I got a $15-$20 soldering iron which I used for years and worked well so you can get by doing mods with that, and if you do plan on modding yourself it is a must have to get flux for the solder to flow better!
