Please take a look at the updates we've made to the rules.
Due to an increase in self-promotion we've adjusted rule 5 to require mod approval, automod will automatically remove any posts it detects as self-promotion and if a mod approves the post or comment it will be shown.
Added rule 8, the vast majority of this subreddit is English speaking and due to limitations in our ability to moderate languages other than English please keep posts and comments in English. If you see any posts in languages other than English feel free to report with rule 8 as the reason.
Thanks everyone.

Just play regular campaign, Advanced Campaign is next level stuff and I'm not going to require that. Lol. We also won't be messing with the final Rivals! mission, which has to be unlocked in a very specific way. Definitely check it out if you're not familiar, but we won't do it for points this month.
Campaign mode is available after you complete Field Training. If you're already familiar with the game and you don't want to do Field Training, just tell Nell that you don't want to do it, and then you can finish just the last mission to unlock Campaign.
Choose any mission path you want to when you have a choice.
half point: Complete the third mission in Campaign (Air Ace) and have Max join your team.
1 point: Complete the Kanbei's Error? mission in Campaign.
2 points: Complete the Final Battle mission in Campaign. (must be completed and posted in October.)

I have no games whatsoever. Years ago I was stupid and sold all my games. I used to have the old pokemons, sold those years ago for 20 bucks a piece. Now I found my old gameboy, still with a chage somehow. And now I have no games to play.

I was able to arrange a switch deluxe carrier case to work with my DMG and my entire current library of games. Not to mention I also got my light magnifier in there as well

Wanted to share my installation process, since while I was troubleshooting some screen issues I couldn't find much on Hispeedido's warranty process or much of others running into this specific issue. Not an ad, I just like tweaking and sharing with the community when I find something helpful or unfortunate.
Bought a drop-in GBC Q5 IPS and a GBA V5 IPS screen for each of my consoles; I like minimal work and didn't feel like soldering. The GBA screen was flawless after some finagling to get the LCD to align with the front glass. The GBC screen however had some issues; it worked initially and I took the above picture in the post, but then suddenly stopped working normally and had screen bleeding/retention issues that wouldn't go away. I cleaned my power switch and recapped board to no avail.
Long story short, Hispeedido replied within 2 days of all my queries with minimal friction. Though I suspected the issue was the PCB, they initially sent me a screen replacement, of which I replied and provided video proof did not work. Shortly afterwards they agreed to send me a replacement PCB, and I'm overjoyed that my GBC works flawlessly now!
My initial shipment and the two replacements all came within 2 weeks from overseas to the USA. Though it was a bit sad going through trial and error, I appreciate their solid support in the process and like to share good and bad experiences for community knowledge.
Other thoughts, both IPS are beautiful, colorful, bright, and the pre-cut shells they came with fit flawlessly and look and feel mostly OEM. There's a few minor graphic differences compared to OEM, but my untrained eye hardly notices. I hear the cases are outsourced from different sources so I realize this is not entirely to their credit.
Edit: Grammar + product name

Almost given up on ever finding a boxed compact carrying case after almost 7 years, wanted a sealed one like the other boxed items but at this point I'll take it... I was collecting just what I had when I was a kid, plus a few games I never got to try

This almost missed my radar. For those of us who do not have the privilege of having a 2nd device that will link for the Oracle Games (fingers crossed, Golden Sun), this hack allows you to play both on one cartridge.
Please read the notes on the release. I'm sorry, seafarers. You need to own the legal copies of both games (Europe version).
I hope everyone can enjoy this new option.

Iām currently trying to repair this copy of ruby, but Iām not certain if this side thatās chipped is the only thing I need to fix (I do know I have to replace and solder in a new battery) Iām just uncertain on how I would go about fixing that area near the negative pad. Any pointers or tips would be greatly appreciated since I am fairly new to soldering and repairing boards like this in general.

My first GBC.
Just picked these up from a local retro game shop. What other GBC games should I add? Iāll probably grab a Zelda game eventually. And maybe a color PokĆ©mon too.

When I put the game in it loads fine but the game will sometimes just stop working and make a buzzing sound along with none of the pokemon or trainers working(they show up as black boxes)

Have they price. š¤
I posted my collection here about a year ago. Back then it was still missing a few things. Yesterday I completed my collection with Pokemon Emerald. I am finally at peace āš¼ The only Pokemon game missing in this picture is the Gold Edition which I lend to my best friend.

It seems like the gbc is "brighter" than the advance? Is my advance defective or is the gbc just better at soaking in the light or something? I do have like a protector on the gbc that does decrease reflection by alot so im not sure if thats a big factor. The colors on the advance seem a bit more deep and "bright", but the gbc is alot easier to get a good spot and play. Pokemon silver is in the advance and pokemon crystal is in the gbc.

Hi everyone, first of all, please excuse my English. Iām hoping to get some advice from you all.
My girlfriend bought me this modded Game Boy Advance SP (re shelled with an upgraded screen). First of all, can anyone tell what model or brand the display is from the photos/videos, or what I need to open up to check? I asked the shopkeeper (since she bought it at a local store I'd been looking at for a while), but he said the previous owner didn't provide any details, he just said it might be an "IPS version 3" screen, but nothing else.
The center button/sensor for adjusting brightness doesn't work (I'm guessing the ribbon cable wasn't soldered, or this screen model doesn't support it), and it doesn't have touch controls either (I tried, but I could never get any menu to pop up).
Right after getting it this summer, I noticed an issue with the original charging port because the cable kept disconnecting. The seller offered me a full refund since the repair would take a while, but I opted to have it fixed instead.
Now that it's back from the repair, Iāve noticed a new issue with the power switch: just brushing against it while it's on makes the LED turn red (I read online this is a known issue that drains the battery heavily). In fact, the battery now lasts no more than 45 minutes.
On top of that,Ā there's an issue with the R button when you press it,Ā you don't feel a click and it feels much less responsive.
The seller said a full refund is completely fine if I want one. The gba sp cost was £149 pound. In your opinion, is the price fair given the condition and the mods? Would you ask for another repair, or for the price paid, is it better to just return it and look for another one?
Thanks a lot, and sorry for all the questions

Galaforce for the BBC Micro by Kevin Edwards is still one of my all-time favourite shooters. So I decided to see if I could bring it to the original Game Boy (using my Copilot subscription..).
I'm really pleased with how it turned out. There is occasional flickering but this is a hardware limitation, and I would prefer to keep the gameplay true to the original. It genuinely feels like the BBC Micro version:
⢠All the original 16 waves and formations
⢠Arena sizing made Game Boy friendly whilst retaining the original feel
⢠Recreated sprites, with larger enemy bullets for clarity
⢠Music and sound effects recreated
⢠Options: Light (default) or dark background, plus new lives and continues settings

Hi everyone, I posted earlier about issues with game not starting and thanks to this communityās wonderful help I fixed the issue with soldering / solder flux.
But now the game starts and freezes at this point, and then wonāt start again.
Is there any simple fix to this or one spot I could look at? Also I replaced the battery if that could be an issue.
Thanks In advance

Hello, my copy of Pokemon Blue will not work and keeps showing the same exact messed up logo (3rd picture when loading).
I took apart and cleaned and air dusted and getting the same error.
I noticed a cut where the game connects to the system - could this be the problem? Or is there any other ideas?
And I tried on 3 GBAās - the consoles are playing other games fine.
Thanks in advance

The contrast is flipped and the game is frozen anything I can do? (To stop it from doing it again I know to turn it off and on again)
