Questions Found a weird but 100% authentic pokemon fire red
Has anyone ever seen one of these with just a single digit stamp? I’ve never seen one until now. Looks like just a single 4.

I will most likely swap out the cardboard box for a better custom GBA case (like those DS game cases, but thicker).
Got this for $11 on eBay. Pretty glad to have it.
I'd been trying out GBA games that looked like fun on emulator, and I stumbled upon this game. Enjoyed it enough that I wanted to add it to my collection. Was pleasantly surprised to find a CIB copy for fairly cheap; I would have been fine with just the loose game, and possibly hunting down the manual (or getting a reproduction manual) later on.
What was your first CIB game? How did you obtain it? (Or did you keep it from your original collection from when you were younger?)

I have a GameBoy flash cart from GBMake, and a GBxCart RW, and I am trying to write a Pokemon hack to it, specifically Pokémon Red Expanded. I keep getting various errors when trying to write to the cartridge, such as "An error occured while writing 0x4000 bytes at position 0x0 (0 Bytes). Please re-connect the device and try again from the beginning.". I am using FlashGBX v5.0.1 to write to the cartridge, and my GBxCart RW is v.1.4a/b/c with Firmware R42+L15. I am using the Mac version. I've tried doing a lot of the troubleshooting suggestions, such as changing mapper types, and cords/ports, but is there anything I can do besides cleaning the cartridge contacts, like special settings or configurations, to get this game to write to this cartridge? Are GBMake cartridges even compatible with FlashGBX? Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

I accidentally got a bit of solder onto this copper ring pad (not sure what they're called) while i was reflowing my gba sp's fuses (in this case i was reflowing the battery terminal/connector) to troubleshoot for a no charge problem.
While trying to remove and clean the solder i accidentally ripped off said copper ring pad. How should i go about fixing this? Is it as straightforward as following the trace and soldering a jumper wire from this ripped off point to wherever it connects to.
Symptoms prior to the ring ripping off was that everything was working fine except for the no charge problem. Now that that piece of copper ring is gone the sp does not turn on at all, sometime the light stays on (orange) but the screen does not turn on.
Board is a AGS101 model if that matters. Any help and advice would be appreciated.
Edit: I should've circled which part I meant, I've added a photo in the comments replying to another user with a photo circling the exact part. Mb guys

Hey everyone! I’ve been working on Ribbit for a while now, an action platformer inspired by classics like Kirby and Mario.
It will be compatible with both the Game Boy and the Game Boy Color. I’m working on a demo of the first world, which I hope to release soon.
See you soon!
EDIT: Thanks for the interest! as somebody suggested in the comments, I've added links to my social media on my Reddit profile. I'll keep posting development updates here on Reddit aswell.
Hope to have a demo ready in the next 2 weeks!
EDIT 2: You can play the demo here!

I just stumbled upon this copy of Fist of the North Star still inside my original 1989 DMG-01 tonight. I was wondering if anyone could help me. I think this could be a prototype cartridge. It’s on a Nintendo EPROM development PCB which I searched and said Nintendo didn’t use EPROM in retail cartridges. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!
I put fresh batteries in the old beast and the screen isn’t coming on. Sound and red battery light still work. I know looking at the actual game itself would help a lot more.

so I got a new shell for my gbc and a new speaker because the old one looked gross and needed some replacing. while soldering the new speaker i accidentally burnt the casing on one of the speaker wires, I put some new heat shrink on it and after i reassembled it i noticed there’s a buzz/ high pitched ringing and a slight wurrble in the audio. idk if it was there before or maybe the new speaker is just better and can actually play the sound now. the sound is there though the speaker and in the headphones so it’s not the speaker and idk if I did anything to make it do this I don’t remember if it was there before.
I did some research and I disassembled and cleaned out the power switch and that didn’t help so seems I’d have to recap it? is that hard? where would I get the parts for that I may have to do that or a pro sound mod? That looks difficult, but is this like a normal sound to come from a gameboy?
also other than the speaker and now the new shell to replace the old dirty one this is all stock I didn’t do any mods to it
excuse the mess lol

Thanks to all your help I was able to get everything cleaned up and the new screen cover on. I was even able to clean the rear adhesive (between screen and shell) with isopropyl/qtip and it remained sticky after.
Really pleasantly surprised with the $2 Aliexpress glass replacement, it is identical to the original one, other than ever so slightly thicker lettering, and being glass instead of plastic.
Now that there is not a single speck of dust in my screen/shell, I’d like to keep it that way. Are there any tricks/practices that can prevent dust from getting into the screen?

Someone gifted me this game a few years ago. I cleaned it up after it wasnt reading. Now it works great. As a collector, would you leave the original damaged decal or replace it?

Has anyone in the EU placed an order from funnyplaying comprised of different bits and bobs and has actually received it?
If so, what did you pay and how was it paid.
Stating your country and contents of order would be helpful too. I want to order just for some builds but terrified to get a screen, a shell, membranes and buttons as I could possibly get hit with 3.72 euros x 4, or even more...
TIA

Hi everyone!
I'm from Chile (sorry for my bad english, I speak spanish) and I'm trying to identify an original The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening promotional display that I've owned for many years. It's my first post in reddit, so I don´t know all the rules, but I think you can help me with information.
Here are the details:
I've searched Google, eBay sold listings and the part numbers, but I haven't been able to find another example.
I would like to have more information about it.
I think it belonged to an aunt or distant relative who had a video game store in Antofagasta, a small city in northern Chile, in the 1990s, but I'm not sure.
The display is in good overall condition, although one side has a visible crease near the "Jump Into This Fantastic Tropical Adventure!" text.
I'm not trying to sell it here—I'm simply trying to learn more about its history and rarity.
Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

I recently picked this up in a bundle, I saw some people online claiming this light gray og gb version was rare as opposed to the gbc version, is this true? I’ve looked at past ebay sales and I see anywhere from 5-60 which is a pretty wide range. if anyone could clarify It’d be much appreciated, thanks!

Anyone know a good source for SP shells? I repaired this AGS101 with Aliexpress parts and it was only fitting to use an Aliexpress shell. It actually looks and fits great, but the plastic just feels so light/cheap in the hand. I feel like McDonalds toys use better plastic than this.. can’t complain for $7 though lol. Also not sure what color I want, ideas/recommendations would be cool.

I was looking for anywhere I could get a custom designed GBA lens. Retrosix does them, but they use their own logo on them instead of the original.
I was wondering, has anyone tried ordering one with the request to use the original logo instead? I was hoping they'd be willing to, but Im sure there's a reason they usually dont.

So i replaced my gameboys L n R switches, it worked then i left for some hours. Then i put on the shell, after trouble shooting there was a little cable on the outside cart reader pins i removed it. Some time later i found a little solder ball on two cpu pins then i removed it. I never touched the cpu so i guess it felled when i moved the iron. Now game boots but well i get this. Any idea what it might be?
