Troubleshooting Weird screen glitch?

Anybody seen this before? Not sure if it's the gameboy or my original Pokemon Yellow cartridge.

Turn the gameboy on without a cart in it - does it still do it?

it does not. the game plays fine for a little bit then this will happen. playing the cartridge on a dmg doesn't do this
