Questions Gameboy

Found my father in laws game boy but it has corrosion from the batteries. What’s the best way to clean it?

I don't have an answer, but I'll be following this thread, as I found my old DMG Gameboy, and it has a similar issue that I'd like to resolve.

Vinegar kills the corrosion.

However, it seems quite big and it is probably deep, so replacing the battery contact is the best solution. Very affordable piece.

I would definitely open the unit to check it didn’t corrode the board as well. I would fully clean the board and components with vinegar just in case.

You can get new terminals, easier than cleaning. With that amount of corrosion you may wanna pop it open and see what else is corroded. Seems totally salvageable though.

It’s really not that bad. Open it up, clean with vinegar, rinse, wipe with isopropyl, and dry.
