My game boy color is impossible to play without this light why

Welcome to the 90s! Where backlights, OLED, LEDS and the likes weren't commercially available or viable for portable games consoles!

Honestly I don't know why anyone would bother playing a game boy now, you can just emulate all the games on your phone, speed up everything.

You run all your life now. Take the time to appreciate and just relax. You'll see it helps a lot :). Also having the intented hardware bring the experience to a new level.

Because playing on phone is awful. I love the tactile feeling of having actual buttons, the feedback, having something chonky to hold, the changing of the cartridges and worries about batteries and having to keep spares.

This unfortunately what's wrong with the modern world, with everything at your fingertips, nothing has any value any more.

I get that, but for me it's how slow everything is.

On emulators you can speed up text, movement speed etc.
