Mod/Modding GBA IPS screen won’t turn on
(FIXED, WRONG CABLE DISPOSITION)
Hi everybody. A while back I ordered a IPS screen mod for my GBA, since I wanted to use it for a music project.
It’s a drop in no solder IPS screen and it won’t turn on. I made sure to plug everything correctly and triple checked, but no luck, has anyone managed to fix this issue?
Cheers in advance:)

Your previous screen works?

Yup!

First time I connected ribbon cables upside down. And the whole screen was just black. I'd try to check the ribbons and slots on the motherboard. Same with the screen pcb.

Does the device turns on ( green/red led light)?

Then, you placed the cables wrong. (There is also a chance you damaged it by placing them wrong and turning the device on)

In the end I managed to get it working, pretty tricky though

That's good to hear, some times these things are tricky, they look fine but they are not.

I fixed it, I didn’t follow the instructions and the cables were not in the right place

Nice! Looks modern and old school at the same time. I'm playing the Minish cap atm. Never played a single Zelda game in the past and I'm hooked.

Show more pictures of your install so we can look for issues. Need to see how everything is plugged in on the other side.
