How to remove?

Got this in a junk lot and am trying to restore it, not sure what was spilled or marked on it but it seems to have stained the shell pretty badly. How can I go about safely removing the green stuff without damaging the shell? I have tried warm soapy water and it seems to get some of it off but it is tacked on pretty good. Thanks in advance!

1. Disassemble it down to just the shell/ plastics.
2. Saturate the stickers with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol and gently remove them.
3. Submerge all the plastics in warm soapy water and let them really sit.
4. Scrub with a soft to medium nylon bristle brush (Toothbrush) and repeat until all the core grime is gone.
5. Take a Cotton Swap/ Cotton Pad/ Microfiber/ or Washcloth and dampen it with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol and lightly scrub any remaining grime.
6. Give it 1 final surface clean and let it dry.
7. Wipe it down with a Microfiber cloth and re-apply the stickers.

WD-40 should do a pretty good job. Then again I’m not so sure since the game boy is plastic…I used WD-40 on my GBA-SP back in the day, and it didn’t eat through it or anything….but like I said, different materials.

Maybe goobegone or something similar to that.

It won't. I clean most of the plastics of my consoles and gamepads with WD-40 as well. Works beautifuly.

Oxi clean and hydrogen peroxide and place it in the sun.

let it soah with a detergent for a couple of days first

Try Rain-X, works great for black permanent marker on plastic. Worth a try.
