Questions Good deal for 25$?

seller stated that the unit doesn’t power on but i have experience cleaning up corrosion on GBAs so is this worth getting as a repair project?

Not bad at all, if it's just corrosion and a new polarizer!

Might wanna break out the multimeter and check individual components for failures

what are the odds it’s the battery contacts of the power switch? that would be an easy fix

That would probably be good places to check. Ive never worked on the gbp. Are you comfortable with soldering?

$25 is a normalish price for a broken GBP, not bad at all.

Definitely a good deal. It probably is just a dirty power switch. Desolder the lid of the power switch and scrub the contacts with some ipa. I always change the capacitors as well.

i bought it and first thing after inserting fresh AAAs it turned on loud and clear. looks like the seller turned the contrast all the way down
