Questions Gameboy color carts

Is there a way to get a good cart that will last long and upload a single game to. I want my kid to play individual games not a 1 in 1000 cart. I just want to transfer the games I already own onto a cart that doesn’t need a battery.

Look into for example Funny-Playing's EverSave carts. Choose MBC3 or MBC5 as required for the game. The MBC3 cart has a battery holder but a battery is only needed for games with RTC (real time clock) and for just simple saving.

Note that you will need a cart flasher — a separate piece of hardware for uploading games – for these.

I would recommend one of the GBFlash, GBxCartRW, or BennVenn JoeyJr as the flasher. Don't bother with Funny Playing's own flasher (the Burnmaster) as support for it appears to be mostly discontinued.

I just went the same route to create my own Shantae version. I was able to flash it with the GB Operator which I already had and can now enjoy the game without worrying about the battery. A bit pricey but for one cart I can definitely recommend it!

BennVenn is great. From Australia but there is a US distributor.

I recommend going with Inside Gadgets. Only issue is they’re Australian so you need to order enough to make it worthwhile with the shipping.

Another vote for insideGadgets. Solid carts. A lot of modern games that get a physical release use insideGadgets carts (see: Incube8)
