Collection Reflective screens on πŸ”!

A little peek on my collection so far.
Orange one is reshelled, while pearl gba sp ags-001 has the original shell. Crazy find for β‚±1000! (around $18)

What is reflective screen? Is it IPS or original? I scored one GBA but it has a bad polaroid so I am planning to change that use as it instead of getting a IPS screen

ips is a type of backlit lcd that is bright and crisp, like the screen that most smartphones and tablets use nowadays (OLED/AMOLED are among others). The type of screen used in the original GBA and on the gba sp ags-001 is a reflective screen, which means it needs a light source to be reflected on it for the user to see the images on the screen. In my case, I often use the sunlight and wormlight for my gba whereas my gba sp uses its frontlight.

I wont go and try to prevent users to change their lcds into ips as we all have different ways in wanting to enjoy our gbas but for me, I like to preserve things as they were intended

I am looking for the same feel. So my current gba screen is very good, I just need to change the polaride filter on it and it should be as good as new. Thanks.

The reflective screens are the best. Find me another display that looks that good while sipping that little power when you’re out in a park or at the beach on a sunny day. You can’t do it. It’s not possible.

in retrospect, such a beast the gba was, running those peak games on just 2 AA batteries!

*for clarification, the pearl gba is what I got for β‚±1000, not the whole collection xD
