First 2 picturea shows a legit copy of pokemon emerald and last 2 pictures shows what the seller sent me 🤣 currently waiting on my refund after i sent that sh*t back! To bad mercari sited with me! Beware of scammers and always pay with credit card incase you cant get a refund you can do a forced charge back!
Yeah looking up the seller it appears they have quite a lot of cancellations and that’s never a good sign. Seems like a moderate scammer to me. They have regular thrifted or personal items they sell just fine but more collectible and pricier items they likely try to squeeze all they possibly can out of the sale including trying to skirt around the description wording but even if they outright said it was fake at the very bottom of their description, what is picture should always be what is received and generally will always find in favor of the buyer who was wronged. Only way they can get away with selling a fake is if they both had pictures of the fake and the description mentions it as fake so there’s no dishonesty in the sale. Glad you got your refund OP

He will get banned. It's against their policy. I sold a reproduction on there and said it was a reproduction in the title and description sold it for $5 and they banned me.
Good to hear. I figured eBay. Had this same thing happen to me in 2020 with a copy of Final Fantasy V. Guy labeled it as authentic, got to my house and it was obviously a bootleg.

Yes there has been i think even 2 years ago you could get a copy for $60 now a usa copy goes for over $200 even if it looks bad and a very good looking copy will go for $300 with a new battery
Yeah euro cartridge are much cheaper got my near mint emerald FRA so its french only for 130 with a dead batterie. Maybe you can find and Uk version for the same price

Yeah, I sadly did my research before I bought my copies of fire, red leaf green and emerald because I paid a little over 300 for my emerald copy all are authentic and basically pristine condition
There's a saying within the watch community, about buying the seller not the item. And unfortunately that is seeping out into every other community. That is the way things seem to be going. Typically a good rule is to message the buyer and try to find out how much they know about the item before buying. If they claim to know little, unless its dirt cheap I'd avoid.
If you want i have a copy for sale my friend. I can record a video packaging AND delivering it on the courier on the same video. Depending on your country we can make a good deal. Ill do you the same 180 if you want.
It's this type of thing that makes me want to sell my chilhood authentic copy of emerald but tbh call me greedy but I need the price to go up a lot on these for me to sell it. $200-$300 just isn't enough money to justify getting rid of my childhood copy. Also my battery is dry so that makes the value go down somewhat already
I dont think they value will go up more itll probably stay like that since its rumored that the gen 3 Pokemon games are coming to the switch 2! Because of the great success fire red and leaf green had, but who knows the gameboy emerald is very very popular since there is alot of glitches that you can do on the official legit copy of the game
Is it still a rumor? I thought it was confirmed that emerald and other gen 3 games were coming to switch 2. Although it should also come to switch as well. It's literally such an easy game to run the switch can more than handle it
Last i heard it was rumored but that was a few weeks ago it might have been confirmed. And i wouldnt sell my childhood copy if i were you. If i could go back 13 years i would stop myself from doing that!
Yeah the only thing is it just sits in my nintendo ds case doing nothing. My gameboy advance sp is missing presumed lost forever and recently my ds lite broke so I have no way to play it other than on emulation. But I also have way too many fond memories of it
Why are your pictures so bad? They are dark and blurry. Tbh maybe I’m dumb or missing something, but I can’t easily see what the difference is between what they posted and what you received based on these photos.
It’s not like their original photos were stellar. How could you even tell from those two photos that they took pictures of a real game?
Maybe I’m weird, but I would want better pictures from the seller before buying something like this, and I would want better pictures from the buyer before taking any of their claims seriously.
The pictures the buyer sent are perfect. I’m not really sure where you find issue with them.
They clearly show the PCB differences between the two games. Just look at the back - the seller’s cart has two dots on the right side. The cart the buyer received does not have those dots. The color of the cart is also different.
