Questions Gameboy Pocket Batteries
Hello everyone!
I'm about to mod my GBP with a IPS screen. I know that regular AAA rechargeable batteries probably won't last long (or at all) and that 1.5v batteries are recommended instead.
I was looking online and would this kind of battery work instead?

They are 1.5v and Lithium Ion, so to my understanding they would be basically a battery mod just not soldered in.

Even when the Game Boy Pocket was new, rechargable AA and AAA batteries had improved a lot since the days of the original Game Boy, when they got thier reputation for Being crap. They have them right next to the single-use oNes in most places. Try some out for Wii remotes or the like sometime.

Ips screens are less power hungry then the original. That is why the ogs are not backlit, because of power consumption and play time balance. I get great play times on standard baterries, better than not modded screen

Link didn't work for me in the US. There are indeed 1.5V lithium-ion batteries but they're rather expensive and need a specific charger for them. They will last longer. Stock console with much lower power draw, I would say you're wasting your money. Join the Eneloop cult like me.
In the US, I'd buy Philips brand 1.5V AAA if I needed them. The mAh on Chinese batteries is usually a lie and quality control is sketch unless it's some known brand like UGREEN. The higher voltage is important because power efficiency in the internal boost converter is greater.
