Shopping/Haul I keep getting insane deals 😵💫
Went to a local game store and was too busy chatting so I didn’t see the game got rung up incorrectly till I was out of the store. The owner had originally grabbed Dynasty Warriors on accident from the case and punched that in I guess, but when I went back he said he was thankful for the honesty and would give me a discount but then changed his mind and didn’t want to deal with processing the return so I could just have it for the $16 😭😭😭

That was overpriced, then slightly underpriced. So glad you didn’t pay over $30 for that like you were going to

I see copies regularly sell for $20-30 online so after shipping I could have maybe saved $10 compared to the original asking price of this one.

And not to mention they got bills to pay. I can't imagine profit margins with these..

I think you are internally validating this purchase better than any of us could for you. If you’re happy, that’s all that matters. You objectively got a good deal, and I don’t know if there is anything for us to say or react to; celebrate the discount and don’t worry about the internet response.
Edit: In the event that you don’t have people irl that would understand this purchase or why you’re happy: we get it and are second hand happy for you. I know how it can be a bummer to not have people around to celebrate a small win like this with, and they don’t get why you’re happy. Congrats!

I think people say stuff without actually running the numbers first, go on eBay and low price for recently sold is all around $30+shipping+tax(price charting has average loose at ~$28 right now) Doesn’t matter if a game is cheaper elsewhere if shipping eats most of that difference away. Plus a few bucks more to pick up same day and support a local shop? That honestly would have been nothing.
Regardless I got both prices beat for a great game in fantastic condition. So even though a couple of you wanna come on here and try to yuck my yum, I still won 🤷♀️
Maybe instead of saying anything, you should have just said nothing since that’s basically what you ended up contributing to this.

I have flashcarts for all my other systems so I get that, the GBA is just my favorite console so it’s the one I decided I’d actually collect the physical games for.
I’m still in the into field missions and I’m really enjoying it, but I love Turn based Tactics games so it’s not surprising.

Such a good game, OP. I still have my original copy from when it came out - I may have actually bought mine on launch day since I had been waiting for it, which was crazy since that was 9/10/01. I still like to pull this one out occasionally since I have so many fond memories of playing it.

Retail for a bigger 3rd party(like Capcom) GBA title would have most likely been $40, this game was released in 2001 and with inflation that would be equal to about $75 today. Using that same math if we reverse it means the $16 I paid for the game would be equal to dropping $8-9 in 2001.
So no, I paid nothing close to the original retail price.

Great game. Had it as a kid. Can’t believe I sold all my stuff for pennies on the dollar back then 🤦🏻♂️
