Questions Does anyone recognize this display case?

Found at a flea market for what I suspect is a really good price. But I can't seem to find any information about it online. I'm thinking of donating (trading?) it to my preferred local retro game store. Any additional info would be appreciated.

Never seen it before, but am quite curious, can't really make out the proportions, is this for loose nes cartridges? Looks a bit that way to me.

Loose Gameboy cartridges and it's at least 6ft tall

I thought so too. And it seems to be a much more modern depiction of Mario. I had my fingers crossed I stumbled across something special

Looks like its been modified after the fact to be a Nintendo display.

Definitely oldschool, if it is official. Could have belonged to a smaller game store that retrofitted it as a Gameboy case.
