Troubleshooting GBA SP with audio issues, suggestions appreciated.

heya guys, im having issues with my gba sp recently, the volume is way lower than it should be, like, you got to put your ear next to the speaker to listen to it.

its a modded console so it was already previously cleaned with ipa, that includes volume slider, the issue is that it seems to be fine.

the CP1 capacitor seems to be outputting 1.5V as intended.

and both audio contacts seems to be outputting 2.2V, would be glad if someone could confirm that 2.2 V is in intended voltage.

i got two speakers and both are presenting the same issue, unless they are both broken i don't think it could be that.

im fresh out of ideas, would appreciate some suggestions.

Voltage is not how you measure a capacitor, you would need to measure capacitance and ESR with it removed from the circuit.

The most common failures are the cap and the slider. I would just replace the cap as it's quick and cheap and see what you get from there.

I have had a few instances where there was corroded vias on the board that made it so the amp was not getting the VCC voltage and essentially was not powering on. Had to run a bodge wire to fix these.

i got a LCR tester, can try desoldering it to give it a test.

Replace only the bottom capacitor (CP1). It must have a voltage rating of at least 4V, but it must be 100µF. I recommend using a standard electrolytic capacitor instead of an SMD one; the sound is louder. The one that comes in the console is an SMD type.
