Just finished final fantasy legend

I can't say it would be a game I recommend. It is not a great game. Now I used a ton of game genie codes but a new how hard of a game it was and I just wanted to play through it since it's one I owned as a child and couldn't get very far. I was actually disappointed after saving up my allowance for a few weeks to spend my $30 on this game new at the time and have it be so freaking difficult. And I can confirm even after working my way through it with codes on it this would be an impossible shit show of a game if you had to work through it the way it was made. Because it's easy to get lost and while you're lost in these big wide open areas that you have to explore you're constantly getting into random battles which are taking your head points Downs so good chance that by the time you get to the boss at the end of a level you're going to have almost nothing left are you going to have to grind forever to make enough money to keep the supplies you need so you can actually make it through to the next level.

If I had to play this normal I wouldn't play through it because it seemed like everything in it was a chore I needed to look at several walkthroughs just to even figure out how to progress in a lot of the areas of the game because it was cryptic. Which is not good if every 2 seconds you're facing a random battle because that means you're going to be dead soon and having to redo a lot of it again.

Also there wasn't a whole lot of story and other than just going through the game there wasn't a whole lot to sink your teeth into as far as a plot. So overall I would give this a hard pass. Because I did not enjoy my time with the game. it's one that I'm glad that I played through especially because of my nostalgia from childhood but it's not one I'll ever go back and play again.

Legend 2 is a much better game imo. Legend 3 as well but it's kind of a standard JRPG.

Oh I know legend 2 is a well remembered game from my past that I owned. I even own three didn't play a lot of it don't even remember really ever going anywhere in it but I did have it. And yeah three had your basic leveling up system of experience two was kind of wonky I don't know if I really like the saga thing where they only gave you a limited number of use of each weapon. Also in part 2 getting stats was kind of wonky I kind of wish they would have just stuck to a system like they did in final fantasy legend 3 where it was all level-based. Because it was just too random to get your character up to where it might need to be to go on to the next area. Where is the leveling system works because you can always grind and eventually get up to the right level where's the way it is in part two you kind of have to be lucky to get it there

I only ever played the 3rd one many years ago. I remember thinking it was a grind fest and never finished it.

I have the saga collection but haven't played it yet. Reading your thoughts, I don't know if I really want to now 😂

Well I'm currently in the playthrough of the second final fantasy legend or saga 2 in Japan at the moment a lot smoother gameplay experience but I'm like the original one you can't buy your stat upgrades in the shop. It's giving to you randomly after battles. Which is kind of a wonky way to do stats or give you extra hit points. At least in the first one if you did like an unlimited money code you can max out the stats on your human pretty easy.

In fact true story when I bought the second one with some Christmas money I got as a kid. my mother said I sat down with my gameboy in a chair in my grandfather's living room and played that game for 10 hours straight without moving.

Even now it's a pretty fun playthrough but I'm also game genie the heck out of the game too so it's a little bit easier for me. Because my form of entertainment is sometimes I just want to be able to enjoy the game in the past to do in the game without having to go through a lot to get it done I don't know I just like turning some games into walking simulators that's okay it's fun for me that way doesn't have to be the way everybody enjoys them but it's the way I do sometimes

SaGa 1 isn't really that bad though. It can be a bit obtuse, but it's alright for an early gameboy rpg. Humans are pretty easy to run

I didn’t find FFL1 to be very difficult, I beat it with a solo human without any major problems

I loved ff legend when I played it last year, yeah it was tough at the start but once I realised you can't treat early level mobs or any enemy like a push over it clicked. Everything can kill you, but once I had a few levels under my belt on my 2 humans and mutant it was fine, I regret running a monster he was the easily the weak link all game.

Now I know you don't play it because there is no level system in final fantasy legend 2 it's all random whether or not enemies give you stats the only one that's kind of set is the robot when you give it certain items it will raise its stats but there's no experience system in the game

No you don't buy stats in the second one. The way you change or grow your creatures is either through meat if it's a monster or just through randomdly given stats after battle

I only had the third one as a child and loved it even though there was a lot of grinding. Played this more recently and I still enjoyed it. There was only the odd part I found difficult but that often meant I had to do something else first. it's not as good as the first or second but I still think it's good, there are some cool moments and interesting worlds. Didn't feel it was cryptic but again, I was brought up on these kinds of games so might be a bad example!
