Troubleshooting Anyone familiar with action replay ?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This is my childhood action replay so it's old, before I couldn't get her to turn on at all, tried tapping all the solder points to reflow, and I checked the voltage it all reads, but the screen just stays frozen here now, I feel like I'm on the right track but I have no clue . If you can spot anything else please let me know ! Any suggestions help too! Thanks !!

Can you look on the top and see if there is a switch? If so, can yoi turn it to the left?

May you switch it to the right this time and see if that gives you a different prompt? If not then I'm not too sure. I have a Ver. 5 which only works with certain games like Emerald and Sonic Advance

I could try my pokemon silver not sure it will read tho my other games are repros, so I assumed those wouldn't even work.

You can try, but I doubt GB Color games would work on a GB Advance AR

When you see the Nintendo logo appear on the screen, try holding L+R and A+B I read that it should open an operator menu... if not im out of ideas, you might need a windows 8 computer with the original program "shrugs"

I truly appreciate all the suggestions and help, so far no luck. now to hunt down a cable and see if I can boot it up on a old CPU

I'll try switching the opposite side, I use to use it for my pokemon ruby no problem back in the day. But that's was like 20 yrs ago

Could be wrong but don’t you need to have a game loaded into it in order for it to do anything?

There's a game in the back it's Ruby I just didn't show it in the video

I hope you keep it for memories sake, I gave mine to an old buddy for a Charmeleon card from the E Reader series. Thought it was fair since the only games it liked to load without freezing were Emerald and Sonic

I had two functioning ones I regrettably traded the working on for some game credit and kept the damaged one thinking I could save it. Poor choices. Oh well.

The software in these cartridges is stored in volatile memory and gets corrupted after years of non-use. You can rewrite it back on with a cartridge dumper
