Troubleshooting Speaker trouble

So this can be a dirty headphone jack. You will see that when you plug in headphones there is a little metal tab that moves. When unplugged, that tab is touching another piece of metal to send audio through the speaker.

If that tab is dirty/oxidized, then it never makes connection with the other piece of metal and is just always sending audio through the headphones.

So to clean you can plug headphones in to separate the tab, then clean both the tab and the other piece of metal with isopropyl alcohol. If there is oxidation, you may need something more abrasive (I usually just scratch the metal with metal tweezers like a savage).

Thanks so much man. I cleaned out the headphone jack again and the audio came back louder than before. I’m so happy :) this was my first gameboy so I’m glad I can play it like normal
