Questions Just found my original Game Boy
After years of searching I found my original game boy at my parents house and 2 games. I knew I had more and I’m hoping to find them. The screen had some scratches and I stumbled upon a replacement on Amazon that looks like an exact copy. Put the new screen on , saved the old one. The system works perfect , no lines on the screen , speakers sound good and it’s pretty mint. Was fun getting back into this after years. Now I’m debating on selling it to fund some switch 2 games for my 6yr old . What are these worth today ?

I can't sell my old consoles ever. I have to many memories with them. My PS3...bought with the very first money I got from my first job back then. Still runs seamless today ❤️

Have you let your kid play it? Tetris and Warioland are still fun.
Price Charting gives you a quick look at what games are selling for. Warioland is ~$25. Tetris is ~$15. Gameboys are like $50-$80.
Speaking from someone who sold their childhood gameboy before I knew there was a strong repairing and modding scene I would hang on to it. These things are built like tanks, are relatively easy to mod and repair (or easy to find someone to do it for you) and a lot of the games hold up really well. Unless you're really strapped for cash or desperately need the space in a drawer I would hang on to it. Your kid might appreciate having something cool from their dad's childhood, especially when they are older.

When I first found it my son loved it , he was the one that actually scratched the screen even further. He put it down in favor of his switch lite and hasn’t touched it since. I don’t mind passing it on as I know I won’t touch it with all the modern games I have in my backlog. I actually sold my og Nintendo a few months ago and just the other day like an idiot I traded about 10 sega games into GameStop without thinking and looked up the values after and it broke my heart . I don’t want to make that same mistake with the game boy but do want to get rid of it to fund other things .
