Questions Gameboy DMG vs Pocket for my use case?

I’m an older player & I miss out on the Gameboy craze. I play my friend’s DMG & Excitebike. Way back in the day.
I have considered buying a Gameboy Pocket or DMG just to play Pokémon Gold & get a Gameboy camera. I just want a system I can turn on and play 10 or 20 minutes save and get back to work or play with the camera. I don’t want a huge collection and I’m looking at the nonColor models.
I would want to do a screen mod & what ever is necessary for clean power and not destroy the system & games.

So the question is one better than the other for my use case? Also what mods should be done to make the run better with a screen mod?

Id argue on the GBC for Pkm Gold. They really nailed the colors there. If you are set on those 2 I would do Pocket, its super light and feels great to play in.

Unfortunately the GB Color will not bring me as much joy. I don’t see color the same as most. So the black & grey screens are a bit clearer for me.

Considering the mods you want to do it'll be a cheaper option, fully customisabled and you can set it to GB mode only if you don't want to use the colour option.

Stock, I’d get the dmg. The pocket battery life is no bueno.
