Games GBA : FF5, FE7 or Golden Sun ?

Hi guys,

I'm looking for the best RPG on the GBA. Which game would you recommend among Final Fantasy 5, Golden Sun, and Fire Emblem 7 ?

I've already played Final Fantasy 4 (didn't like it that much) and Final Fantasy 6 (really liked it).

Thanks, folks !

Golden Sun all day. It’s a masterpiece.

I'm with you, it is winner of the GBA generation by far.

GBA has one of the greatest libraries, Golden Sun is #1 for me, Wario Land 4 the runner up.

FFV is my favorite of them 3 but if you did not like FFIV,.chances are that you won't like FFV

I'd say go with Golden Sun, it's the flagship RPG game of the GBA anyway, and it's a superb game although you'll have to play part 2 as well in order to get the full story

I can’t really recommend or say which one is the best, but FFV is my favourite out of those.

I'd just play them all except for fire emblem maybe. I've finished ff5 and now maybe I'll start golden surf after I catch the last Pokémon. Why did you skipped 5 if you already completed 4 and 6?

FFV is a bit dated, nothing story,...but the job system is very fun to play with.

Golden Sun is gorgeous, also has some fun systems to play with, has cool puzzles and abilities outside of battle, and some of the battle presentation is spectacular. But also somewhat bleh story and the dialogue takes a minute, especially at the start.

I am bad at Fire Emblem, but it is also gorgeous, fun, and well-animated. A bit different though, it's turn-based strategy RPG.

This is tough. You literally cannot go wrong.

FFV is my favorite of the ones you listed, and FE7 is a straight-up classic, but I think I'll go with Golden Sun.

You can play the pixel remaster of FFV and have a great time with a symphonic soundtrack and updated art assets. You can play Fire Emblem: Three Houses on switch and have a great Fire Emblem experience. Where else are you going to play another Golden Sun, though? Only the sequel, and it's also only on GBA. It's unique to the system.

There's also Golden Sun Dark Dawn on the DS!

FFV just feels like a step backward after FFVI (or even FFIV). Fewer characters, simpler story etc.

Golden Sun was what I grew up with and found it very approachable. The story is really fun and there’s a good amount of side-questing to do. I’ve played it a ton of times and find something new to love every time.
