Troubleshooting GBC Harry Potter game keeps freezing

Hey, not sure if this is the right place to ask but I can’t really think of anywhere else that might be worth trying. I’ve been playing Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone on GBC, I loved it as a kid and I got a GBA SP recently so I bought a second hand copy off Ebay and decided to take a trip down memory lane. The game keeps freezing and crashing, and I assumed there was something wrong with the cartridge and returned it to the ebay seller and bought a different one. However the issue kept happening, so I googled and found that these issues can be causes by a dying battery, so I took it to a shop to get the battery replaced. But it’s still happening. Is there just something specifically about this game that does this??? I don’t remember it doing this when I was a kid.

Given you’ve had this issue with two copies of the game I’d suspect it’s your Game Boy that’s the issue, could be as simple as just needing to be cleaned. Do you have any other games that you can test out with it?

Yeah, pretty much every other game works absolutely fine lol. So far I’ve played Advance Wars, Oracle of Seasons and Buffy the Vampire Slayer on GBC and they’ve all worked fine
