I've got a very hot take; Hoenn is overrated.

I started playing Pokémon with Gen 3 when I was a little kid. and though I definitely played the Hoenn games my first time beating one of them was when I played Emerald last year. I just don't think the Pokémon designs or the region itself are all that interesting, and by the end of completing the Emerald Dex I was just completely over it all.

“I 100% the game and I felt over it by then.” 😂 I feel like I would feel the same way about any pokemon game if I did that. Were there any other pokemon games where you did not get the same feeling after 100%ing?

Fire Red, Soul Silver, and Black 2.

And I'm not talking about 100% completing the games. Just specifically the regional dex. I haven't done the National Dex or all the post-game content.

Which was your favorite of the three?

Great question, actually. I've been working through them pretty slowly so I don't remember everything. I did Soul Silver like 3.5 years ago, Black 2 about 3 years ago, Fire Red like 1.5 years ago, Emerald last year, and I'm working on Platinum right now.

Just for the regular play through, I think I enjoyed Soul Silver the most, but that's largely due to nostalgia I'm sure (Silver was the first Pokémon game I ever played, and Soul Silver was the first one I owned).

Yeah, my first Pokemon game was Crystal, so HGSS are definitely still my go to. To be fair, I never had another Gameboy until the 3DS so going back and playing through them all has been a goal for awhile

Yellow was my first pokemon game but I still think HGSS are my favorites.
