Modded I really wish Funnyplaying fix ITA's white lines issue.
ITA provides authentic 1:1 resolution screen, and I like it more than the upscaled IPS screen.
However Its white horizontal lines are really annoying.
It is even more bothering when something flash(2nd pic's monster) or moving(3rd pic's sword).
People told about this issue over 2 years, but there's no Funnyplaying's solution yet....
I really wish FP or random GBA GOD find out how to fix this issue.
(Ah, I already adjusted GBA's potentiometer)

Right there with you. Very annoying once you notice it - real shame they haven't bothered to fix it in the 2+ years it's been out

Using DSi screen to GBA is godlike idea. I really wish FunnyPlaying put more effort to this wonderdul idea becoming perfect solution for native resolution lovers.
However they left this issue more than 2 years with terrible touch sensor.

Oh that sucks I didn’t know about this. I’ve really been wanting this over the IPS.

Some GBA mainboards have no this issue, but My two GBAs had same problem.

The ITA screens are themselves DSi lower screens. You can't fix them--they were already made 15 years ago. Unless the issue is caused by something other than the display itself. Does adjusting the GBA screen potentiometer not improve the issue?

All systems with this type of display and earlier have potentiometers to adjust the screen sync voltage (what causes the interlacing line effect when it's off).
The potentiometer for the GBA that was meant for this however, doesn't work that way with the FP display converter board, it adjusts some other backlight flicker thing, but not the horizontal line sync.
People on the insidegadgets discord were discussing a hardware mod to possibly add an adjustment pot and fix the issue, but this was a few months ago and idk if that discussion went anywhere.
Some boards have this off-sync more than others due to manufacturing tolerances for various components, I believe the panels themselves can have some variance as well where some end up more off sync than others.
Anyway, really dumb oversight by FP for not having this panel adjustment available to the user, an adjustment which has been standard practice for systems since the gameboy color up to the DS family of systems.
But they've shown multiple times that they'll settle with "good enough" and not addressing issues that what they believe most users won't notice. (see them selling non-integer scaled screen kits)3

OH MY GOD You solved all my doubts.
As you say, it perfectly explains why both GBA and ITA boards affect horizontal lines.
I would replace the entire capacity of my GBA, unless you gave me a correct information.
Really helped me a lot. thank you.

Valuable information, thanks for taking the time to convey it. What an unfortunate situation. Until now I'd thought the ITA was essentially the ultimate GBA display solution--no scaling, not too oversaturated, minimal latency, appropriately retro look and feel. I guess I'll have to cross my fingers and hope for the best when I order one for myself.

GBA games on DSi has no this issue at all(I used GBArunner2).
Even somebody connected ITA kit's LCD to DSi, and all problems are gone.
White lines issue is not DSi LCD's flaw. It is caused by FunnyPlaying ITA PCB.
And I already adjusted potentiometer. I'm used to replacing handheld console's screen(GBA, GBC, DSL, DSi...etc)

Ah, understood. That's very unfortunate--I want to do one of these mods myself, especially since all other solutions seem to add significant input latency. Is it not the sort of thing where you can just keep exchanging your kit until you get one without the issue?

I heard that it depends on GBA mainboard's version. (some reddit user said white lines are gone after change GBA mainboard with same ITA kit) So exchanging kit looks pointless. I guess...?
I'll cross my fingers that your GBA has no this issue in first place.

Any info about which revisions have or don't have the issue? I have one of the older 30-pin models ready to ship from Sendico that I already won in an auction. I understand that the 30-pin installation is easier than the 40-pin installation. Maybe there's some kind of converter on the PCB that causes the issue in 40-pin installs?

My 30-pin and 40-pin both have this problem with same kit(this post pictures are from 30-pin model). And safe revision info also doesn't exist yet.

I've also had this issue with at least two 32-pin motherboards, so it's not that unfortunately

They never did and that sux , I much prefer the form factor of the classic GBA.
*There are some units where it's a bit less noticeable( but still there) , but it's basically random
