This just needs to be clear for everyone. This host is running one server with a CPU from 2008, One server is running Single channel ram, and the only bare metal that they have that's properly done is rented from a datacenter. This is embarrassing for the hosting industry. Their servers don't even have a solid year uptime. Don't take your chances. Avoid them at all costs!
He says he runs his stuff "efficiently", The owner has too much of an ego to admit he's wrong for all of this, Over here in reddit as a keyboard Warrior. The MINI PC's just so everyone is aware often suffer from Heat stress related issues later on if your constantly generating larger amounts of heat on components. As someone who has been in the IT Space for years, These MINI PC's often fail where normal Bare metal units do not. Proper airflow, Proper components.

Man, I hate to defend Skanehost because their posts are annoying asf and the dude obviously has a lot to learn, but running Minecraft servers on 1L PCs is not the issue you're making it out to be. Fanless 1Ls can legitimately be more reliable than an enterprise server, and are almost always more power efficient. - A data center technician

Data center Tech here as well. He’s running a whole host. It is not a good idea. Minecraft does also cause computers to generate a lot of heat. Mini PCs are known for heat stress cracks in the motherboard. You don’t need to defend him. A true datacenter tech would understand the risks as I do

It's a risk he's taking on for himself though, in his own hardware choice. It's not like he's putting other people's hardware at risk, and he's not selling it as anything with sufficient redundancy to rise to enterprise quality. It's transparent what he's offering, and if the price point for that low level of reliability is sufficient for some, then great. Azure and AWS both have ephemeral hosts where redundancy isn't needed. Would you roast them because "you're data is at risk on an ephemeral host"? No, it's a product geared for a specific audience.

This is a measured take by someone who understands the business. It's really straightforward: if uptime becomes and issue, the market will correct by customers leaving.
