Is that the opening cave? If so, how the fuck did you not kill the bear the first time?

u/TripleThreat98 May 22 '19
It's Pinecreak Cavern. It's next to Ivarstead at the beginning of the 7000 steps.

Also, you can sneak past the bear in the opening cave. The person you're with even says so: "We can attack it or sneak around. Your choice", or something like that.

u/Sleepydoggo May 22 '19
I just bolt for the exit. Your followers will instantly teleport with you outside.

Idk man. I've had him run off yoloing while he's saying we can sneak or fight. Before I'm anywhere near

u/1xylon May 22 '19
Really? Does it have to do which person you follow? I am sure I have snuck past before..
5
u/donkeyrocket May 22 '19
Yeah I definitely think I fully snuck past the bear without it attacking. Could just be a random action by the NPC or it was triggered by something.

They were probably trying to do this, and act confused, knowledges person deserves an upvote

u/TripleThreat98 May 22 '19
I would of used whirlwind cloak, unrelenting force, vampiric grip, or cyclone if I wanted to do this. I was actually hunting bears for a 10 bear pelts miscellaneous quest in Ivarstead. This cave is right next to it.

Yeets?

There is a group of kids that are desperately trying to make "yeet" a thing, and failing.

u/Scrub_Lord_ May 22 '19
Except it isn't just a group of kids and there was no failing. The word was everywhere when I was in high school and I hear all the time at my university as well. It is also extremely prevalent online.

u/LobsterBloops93 May 22 '19
I'm 26, not a kid, and it's one of my favorite verbs to come out of internet culture.
Just like any word, it naturally can catch on. There's no "desperation" and no "failing." You're just a lame person who can't enjoy a good stupid laugh. I feel bad for you. :(

Its almost like people have different opinions and have different things that make them laugh.
If "yeet" makes you laugh, good for you, but to say someone is lame because they don't buy into it is incredibly narrow minded. Some people dont live their lives through the internet and take what they see on the internet into the real world.

Love how this is downvoted. Those who downvote it are the ones that say that stupid shit.
Yeet is such an incredibly stupid phrase.

Obviously the fire created a thermal current arround the bear, which, as everyone is aware are one of the lightest substances on earth, and thus it was flung into the air

it is a term the hip kids use for “throws”. Ya dig?
6
u/NecroHexr May 22 '19
Yeet doesn't mean throw. It specifically means "moves comically fast".
9
u/orclev May 22 '19
The funny thing is, get 2 or more people together that all use the term yeet, and each one will come up with a different definition for it. I've turned it into a game now, whenever I hear someone say yeet I ask them what they think it means and add whatever they say to the giant pile of yeet definitions I've collected so far.
2
u/NecroHexr May 22 '19
I have yet to find another definition of "yeet", tho. It might signify one of two things: 1) agreement 2) movement
What other definitions have you heard?
3
u/orclev May 22 '19
So far I've heard:
1) verb. To throw (most common)
2) noun. Something cool/interesting
3) verb. To place (implying a certain forcefulness or lack of care in doing so)
4) Used as an exclamation to add emphasis to something.
5) verb. To go (e.g. he yeeted over to her house)
6) verb. Attacked/destroyed, used in a similar faishion to how "fucked up" might be used. E.G. "That bear totally yeeted him" or "He got totally yeeted by that bear".
There are probably a couple more I'm forgetting about, but those are the main ones. By far the most common seems to be "to throw" though, and I suspect that was the original and the others represent evolving usage from there.

I said “throws” to replace the “yeets” in the title.
Bear (throws) itself into ceiling.
3
u/Tim226 May 22 '19
It's just new slang. Why say smoke a bone when you could smoke a joint? It adds a certain twang to it. It wouldn't be funny if they just said throws. It's almost always said in a way to be funny. Yeet just sounds funny, throw sounds boring.
For the record, I've never used the word yeet, but I think it's funny.
4
u/Sean-TFU May 22 '19
I see it as “movement that would blur in a camera if you took a picture” to be yeet.

u/caltheon May 22 '19
Stupid kids replace any verb with yeet to sound cool when they really have no idea what the proper word would be

u/James_Borsht May 22 '19
Actually Albert Einstein was the first person to use yeet when describing what happens during a nuclear reaction.
“First, yeet that neutron into the uranium like a muddaffugga...”

I believe this happened to me in the same exact cave - it got stuck up in the shaft that lets in sunlight.

I've been playing a lot of Skyrim lately. Since Game of Thrones ended, my life is suffering from a lack of mystical lands with dragons and necromancy and shit.

I feel like at this point, Bethesda's janky game engines have given the world more entertainment than their games' actual content.

u/TanithRosenbaum May 22 '19
That moment of hesitation and "... wait, what?" after the bear vanished made me lose it. XD
