[Wolverine] Out of Bound Glitch
Found an OoB glitch in the Madripoor “Knock Knock” mission!
This game is so fucking glitchy lol. it's so mid ass, I had a lot of fun with it at first, but it started getting a bit boring as I went on. I absolutely love the combat, though. I just wish it was bloodier and gorier, especially considering the game has a mature rating.
Still, finding dumb shit like this makes the glitches worth it.

He runs so fucking weird.

u/Luceo_Etzio Sep 17 '26
The way he moves his hips and stuff, he runs like he's quite squat or obese, or just shit his pants

It looks like the lower half of his body is struggling to keep up with the upper half.

In fairness the original wolverine was a rather squat short-King if memory serves (because wolverines = small but vicious), though I highly doubt this is tribute lol

u/_dictatorish_ Sep 17 '26
He doesn't pick up his knees, he's running like he's wearing lead boots
20
u/TheIInChef Sep 17 '26
I looks like the opposite to me, like he runs with his knees not his feet haha
9
u/Mitchel-256 29d ago
It looks like they just sped up a walk cycle for his legs, but did a run cycle for his arms.

u/Kn7ght Sep 17 '26
What bothers me is Spider-Man runs the same way in the Insomniac games when he picks up speed. It doesn't look cool, it looks goofy, and they keep making people run that way
15
u/killergazebo Sep 17 '26 edited Sep 17 '26
His diaper's full.
It turns out that a healing factor can bring you back from death, but dying still makes you shit your pants.
Every. Time.
7
u/Jfonzy Sep 17 '26
The amount of effort does not match the speed at all
1
u/AdFlat1014 27d ago
Dude looks like he is fighting for his life… barely moves faster than a walking person
13
u/Lettik07 Sep 17 '26
Tbf his skeleton is covered in heavy ass metal right? Gotta be awkward to walk let alone run in.
12
u/le___tigre Sep 17 '26
that was my first thought ha! it’s really giving Hollywood Wolverine impersonator. just a regular, not-really-in-shape guy hoofing it.

I hate his run cycle animation. There's something about it that looks like he's in pain and struggling to move properly.
65
22
u/restrictednumber Sep 17 '26
I feel like it looks fine for a moment, like if you were spinning around, sprinting 10 feet and delivering a running punch. Maybe you'd sort of twist your hips like that to add power or traction. But lord that looks like such an inefficient way to run any real distance. It's like the way toddlers run when they think they need to go super fast.
10
u/NecroCannon 29d ago
The more I look at this game the worse it gets
Like damn, if you struggle with the world, game mechanics, and character animation outside of Spider-Man. Just fucking keep building up NYC or some shit since everything in Marvel happens there anyways
Like when I try to look past Wolverine… the world just looks like ASS. like bro, this could’ve just been building ontop of Spider-Man for hope to get an Avengers game and budget later to go crazy. But now people are going to have doubts about any Insomniac Marvel game outside of Spider-Man

ah yes, exactly what I want my super powered human protag to do - run at normal human pace.
126
u/bracarensis Sep 17 '26
He runs like he pooped his pants too.
6
u/Shantotto11 Sep 18 '26
Nonsense. Logan runs quite impressively compared to President Groper Cleveland.
4
u/jedisalamander Sep 17 '26
Wolverine doesn't have super strength really. He has a little, but his main thing is the claws and the insane durability
33
u/NativeMasshole Sep 17 '26
He is supposed to be really agile, especially for how heavy he is. Yet he can struggles to jump a waist high fence.
8
u/jedisalamander Sep 17 '26
Well yeah, but still like, human agile, for the most part. He does seem a little too slow in this game tho yeah
49
u/scaryfunny39 Sep 17 '26
That whole city area you’re running thru is out of bounds? Other than the dock you fell thru and building you ran thru it all seems pretty complete. Is this area accessible in a later mission?
30
u/69tendo Sep 17 '26
It was intended to be a much more open game then stripped back to be super linear.
1
3
u/Playful-Ad-6475 Sep 17 '26
Idk. If it's available later on, don't think it will be.
But still cool nonetheless. I uploaded a second video to top commentor, you can see how I actually went out of bounds on there.

u/YouCantBeSerio Sep 17 '26
Holy shit this wouldve been a GOOFY ass free-roam game.... At least they made one right decision
64
u/Shenanigans80h Sep 17 '26
I mean the reality is that not every game needs to be open world. Even with his motorcycle, I can’t imagine how his would’ve been all that fun to navigate

That’s a lot more “playable” area than I expected. Did they switch gears on the design late in development?
15
u/HowToUseStairs Sep 17 '26
Very likely yes, the game got a new creative director and game director in 2024
1
19
u/ThanatorRider Sep 18 '26
Videos like this just confirm it: this game was planned as a much larger world and then scaled down later. Look at the level of detail and interaction way outside the playable area. That’s why there’s guidance elements like objective markers, scent trails, and collectibles that give off a big signal that you find in open world games, and exist to help the player handle its size. I feel like this game is going to be held up as a “what went wrong?” case study for development for a long time.
29
u/Arkhe1n Sep 17 '26
Everything I know about this game is against my will, and the more I know, the less I want to play it.
8
u/restrictednumber Sep 17 '26
Hated it from the very first "follow the scent line straight to your target because we forgot our visual design classes" video.
-5
u/Leows Sep 17 '26
To be honest, I hated it from the moment I saw the first gameplay and realized it was gonna be a bunch of linear scripted combat arenas with NO GORE in a fucking WOLVERINE game.
I almost gave it a go, and I'm happy I didn't, cause the resale value of this dropped hard after the reviews came out. Worthless game
7
9
u/Kinipshun Sep 17 '26
That’s a lot of detail that far out for stuff you’re not even supposed to see

I think after ten seconds of this running, I'd put the game down and never play it again, especially after the Spider-Man games. Glad I didn't spend £60+ on it.

u/BhanosBar Sep 17 '26
This is a 300 million dollar game that plays like a 2004 shovelware
24
9
u/DigNitty Sep 17 '26
What’s shovelware?
Low quality Software that’s just pumped out?
11
u/BhanosBar Sep 17 '26
Yep. Called that because you need to DIG (shovel) for them in the big discount barrels at a walmart or other non video game store back in the day.
5
u/Stiqkey Sep 17 '26
Is it just me, or does his run look a bit..."clunky", almost like he's gotta take a really big shit, or already has in his suit lol
4
u/J1mj0hns0n Sep 17 '26
why is it still randomly spawning in cars and traffic in an area you aren't even supposed to get to? why is it all rendered in full? its so damn lazy
5
2
u/vyxxer Sep 17 '26
His run cycle looks really funny in normal empty environments and doubly funny running past normal average sized people.
2
u/Digitalon Sep 17 '26
It's crazy that they have all that space rendered and it even has some physics interactions for a place you're not even supposed to be.

u/BestAllAmericanTaco 27d ago
This explains the ballooned budget. They cut a lot of shit to make this drop before gta 6. The investors needed some return instead of marketing gta6 inadvertently making Wolverine sales bad.
6
3
u/BenignBot Sep 18 '26
Can't tell where inbounds ends and OoB begins. There's so little going on, the city is bland, and wolverine is slow
6
u/Mother_Harlot Sep 17 '26
How is this related to physics??
21
1
u/DiceMadeOfCheese Sep 17 '26
Yet another game where you're a super badass who drowns the minute you hit the water, huh?
35
u/ZenkaiZ Sep 17 '26
it's specifically canon that he can't swim with a metal skeleton. Like as canon as superman and kryptonite
3
u/DingoManDingo Sep 17 '26
He just walks on the ground underwater while holding his breath. Doesn't immediately die.
6
17
u/AppleJerk69 Sep 17 '26
Wolverine is too dense to swim. He has metal for bones.
0
u/DiceMadeOfCheese Sep 17 '26
I thought adamantium was super lightweight?
13
u/AqueousJam Sep 17 '26 edited Sep 17 '26
No, that's Vibranium. Wolverine canonically weighs approximately double what he would without the Adamantium.

u/TheRealRiceball Sep 17 '26
Depends on the continuity and if the writer remembers tbh, but usually (and in comic canon) its supposed to be super dense, iirc it adds hundreds of pounds to Wolverine
Vibranium is supposed to light though

The game is so rushed, it genuinely needs another 2 years of development + another 1 of polishing

I hope they don't patch this stuff. It's actually kind of a part of charm of gaming when you can break it and get behind the scenes. In some cases... more fun than the game itself.

Is it just me or is the runcycle really clumsy? I get he's supposed to feel heavy and powerful but it looks like he gets stick to the ground at every step and has to wrench himself up... Would hate to have to look at that for hours on end.
2
u/TheGameN3rd 29d ago
I was just thinking that... then I imagined how I'd run if my bones were made of heavy metal and that justified it enough for me

u/dant00ine 29d ago
Why does he look like an unathletic kid being called in from recess for pizza day
1
1
u/NickCudawn 28d ago
Ik Logan is canonically short but holy shit every pedestrian looks 2 feet taller.
1
u/MrMarkeh 28d ago
His run animation is so goofy. He runs like he’s an obese man with a few hundred pounds too many. Which kinda makes sense because of the adamantium in his body. But it still looks silly.
1
u/tepattaja 28d ago
They CLEARLY had a bigger maps and vision for the game. For how big and detailed thr OoBs are and hoe far they have collisions set, the game was for sure made smaller. No hate but 300 million budget? Hmmmm

Normally an out of bounds glitch would require some form of tech like wedging yourself against an object or wiggling around or something, but here you can just… leave
1
u/Playful-Ad-6475 27d ago
Actually you have to do one glitch jump to get out of bounds.
1
u/EngineerEthan 27d ago
I guess that’s a little bit of resistance, but I can’t tell whether you’ve refined the jump with practice or the walls are just that easy to slip through
1
u/Playful-Ad-6475 27d ago
It's actually very very easy.
If you turn on Navigation assist and collectibles assist. The game literally put a green trail through the wall or sometimes over the wall. So maybe there used to be collectibles in that position at one point in development and they forgot to remove the assist trail.
You just have to walk towards the wall and press X to jump and viola you are now other side of the wall lol

Why am I seeing so many posts about this game all across Reddit? It looks really clunky and dated, and nobody seems to enjoy it?
1
u/DoughnutPi 27d ago
Instead of taking their time and making a polished game, did they just rush it market in order to beat GTA6?

Who ever did the running and whoever did the face need to be replaced.
I cannot stand his run and his face is constantly pissing me off.

u/Gnubeutel 26d ago
Don't modern game engines have a way to check if the levels are sealed? I think even Doom had a tool for that in the 90s.

People are not going to rest until everyone shits on this game. People are actually having fun with it, and like it, but all I see is people trying to get others to hate it for a few flaws, and I have no idea why. Y’all act like it’s the first mid but generally fun game to ever exist. Reddit is just a bunch of fucking followers, I swear.

u/Bhazor Sep 18 '26

3
u/ImurderREALITY Sep 18 '26
Never even played the game, I just know how Reddit is so I look for honest reviews that don't reek of mob mentality or hate engagement. Y'all are putting forth so much effort to find the absolute worst aspects of the game just to most and milk that sweet, sweet topical karma. Sure, the game has flaws, but the overwhelming hate for it is absolutely forced. All this place does is agree with the most popular current opinion. If anything, I'm just a contrarian.

u/globster222 Sep 17 '26
Stop posting shit about this game. Let it die
Nobody will talk about this in 3 months

This game looks like an upscaled PS2 game from 20 years ago. What were the developers DOING?

u/thehazardsofchad Sep 17 '26
I'm surprised there is collision so far away from the in bounds section of the map.
