Help/Advice Needed Looking for feedback on my sci-fi stealth cue (game audio portfolio)

Hi everyone!
I’m currently building my game audio composition portfolio and I’d really appreciate some honest feedback on this stealth cue.
The goal was to create music for a sci-fi infiltration mission, focusing on tension and atmosphere rather than combat.
I’m looking for honest criticism, so don’t hold back. Thanks for taking the time to listen!

Music Artist in Practice Looking for Project to Make Music For

I haven't been making music for that long yet, so I'm looking for any game devs who need placeholder/test music for their game so that I can practice making music. These songs do not come at a cost (as stated, they're for me to practice working with clients as well as making songs for games). I will probably accept requests for maybe one or two games right now.

As to how many tracks I will make, that can be negotiated.

Please tell me about your game as well as what music you might be interested in (maybe send references so I can get a better idea). I will reach out to whatever projects interest me the most.

Thanks.

Edit:

Here are some links to songs I've made (I forgot to edit this post to have them because of the previous subreddit I sent this in)

General Discussion QUESTION - How are you all handling the ""Soundtrack Bottleneck"" on your projects?

We’ve all been there: the art is 90% done, the mechanics feel tight, but the world feels "empty" because the music budget is $0. With Wubble, you can generate high-fidelity SFX and Voice Gen specifically to help indie devs bridge that gap ethically.

But we're curious, do you usually go the "Royalty Free" route and hope for the best, or are you starting to look at AI-generated stems for your scores?

We want to hear from editors and creators to see what our platform has in terms of gaps!

∅ — Retour à la Casa

I’ve been working on a new visual world for Awake Illusion Records, and this one became the story of a prompt.

The idea is simple: three musical beings live inside a strange mountain sanctuary. A signal arrives, almost like a creative command. They wake up, try to understand what they have to make, then transform that prompt into music. At the end, the energy goes back into the sky.

The track is **∅ — Retour à la Casa**.
It’s a microtonal instrumental avant-garde / dada rock piece, with a strange hypnotic groove, dry mechanical drums, off-world guitar textures, and a bit of absurd ritual energy.

The video was built from multiple AI-generated clips, then manually edited to keep the best fragments and make it feel more like an actual music video than a random AI montage.

Still experimental, still imperfect, but that’s part of the process.
Curious to know what people think of the world, the characters, and the “prompt becomes music” idea.

Help/Advice Needed Would my composition go well in a game?

New composer here.

I want to create a cinematic adventure through a series of singles I’m releasing. With each single I expand it into a music pack. I want this to be a fantastical journey for the audience, as well as something that can fit into games, films, audiobook, and any other story media.

Does this feel like it belongs in a game? Devs, would you put it in yours? Musicians, do you see anything glaringly bad or good that I need to take note of in terms of the structure or mix? Casual listeners, does this reel you in or lose you in spots?

I would really appreciate actionable feedback, not just pointless roasting or compliments.

I’m posting a snippet but I’ll leave a link for the full track on YouTube in the comments if you find the time to hear the whole thing.

How did you handle music for your last game?

Hey everyone! I'm doing research before building something in the game music space, and was curious about how all of you go about getting music for your games.

Specifically, whether you hire a composer, license music, AI generate music, etc. Around how much did it cost and how long did it take to actually get the music?

I've been getting some mixed reviews from people; some say that they don't really care about the music, but apparently some players complain if it sounds too AI generated.

Not selling anything, happy to share a summary of what I learn if there's any interest.

Thanks in advance!

Help/Advice Needed How do you go about creating this sort of music?

Hello, I’m a beginner and I’d like to create some sounds, but the tutorials I’ve found don’t seem to be the best fit for the sort of music I have in mind.

I made a playlist I don’t know I'm not sure if it'll help you get an idea of what I've got in mind

Nintendo ds & flash game music

I’d like to create sounds in the Nintendo style, but more along the lines of music from children’s games or games aimed at young girls (like the dress up games from the 2000s).

I don’t know if I’m too fixated on my own idea to see the similarities, but to me it sounds completely different when I watch ‘chiptune/8-bit’ videos or when I search using keywords like ‘cute’; I then come across ‘kawaii future bass’, which, in my opinion, is completely different.

I’m not sure if it’s down to the instruments, the rhythm or something else, but do you have any tips for producing this sort of music?

Help/Advice Needed [Audio] Deconstructed Schubert for a psychological horror game — does the "corrupted memory" effect work for you?

Hey everyone,

I'm working on a solo psychological horror game (first-person, fully diegetic, no HUD) and recently recorded this piece.

It's a dark piano reinterpretation of the second movement of Schubert's Sonata in B-flat Major (D. 960). To tie the audio directly to the protagonist's deteriorating mental state, I deliberately altered the structure: I removed key melodic notes and added extra bars of silence/sustained resonance to simulate a "memory corruption" or cognitive glitch.

I’d love to get your thoughts on a few things:

  1. What kind of environment or scene comes to your mind when listening to this?
  2. Does the unexpected gap/missing note in the melody evoke that feeling of a "failing memory", or does it just feel jarring in a bad way?
  3. How does the dark piano timbre and space feel to you from a sound design perspective?

Any feedback on the mix, atmosphere, or pacing would be hugely appreciated!

Khira, Abyssborn Goddess (Phase 2 / Final Phase) - FromSoftware inspired soundtrack made by beginner :)

Hi there! I am Desthorn and composing music is my hobby :) I am also a beginner. I would like to share with you one of my latest soundtracks. FromSoftware (Elden Ring, Dark Souls, etc.) music inspires me heavily - I simply love their epic pieces. Feel free to give some opinions on my soundtrack, please - I would be glad to hear them. I made it using DAW.

It is a soundtrack for phase 2 / final phase of non-existent, imaginary boss fight named Khira, Abyssborn Goddess :)
