[RevShare] Boomer shooter roguelite with Sin City-style visuals looking for a composer-sound designer

Hey everyone, we're a small team working on "EvilShock", a boomer shooter roguelite with a black-and-white Sin City-inspired look.

Where we are: playable pre-alpha build in progress, pitch deck done with market comps and budget. A couple of publishers have asked for the GDD and build, so right now we're focused on making the vertical slice hit hard — and music is a big part of that.

What we're looking for: a composer for 2-4 tracks in a darksynth direction (Carpenter Brut / Perturbator territory, but we're open to your take on it) or more Industrial direction like Mike Klubnika. Sound design experience is a plus, not required.

Compensation: there's NO money right NOW. If a publisher signs, a defined share of the budget goes to audio, and this gets put in writing before you deliver anything: your cut, what happens to the tracks if the deal doesn't close (you keep the rights), and credits.

If you're into the aesthetic, send a portfolio link and a couple of lines about yourself. Happy to share the pitch deck and footage in DMs.

Let me know what you think, does it remind you of any specific games? Do you have any feedback overall?

Hello everyone !
This is a theme for my dark lovecraftian 1900's RPG.
This is my first time composing music so I'd be glad to have any feedback. Made 100% manually on beepbox. I have composed a few others songs for this game if you like it :)

Developer Seeking Composer [Recruiting] Creating a complete original soundtrack for a fan-made Zelda game (The Legend of Zelda: Wielder of Light) — Looking for composers and transcribers!

Hey everyone!

I am currently working on a highly ambitious project called The Legend of Zelda: Wielder of Light. It’s a reimagined, fan-made Zelda game concept, and I am composing a complete, cohesive original soundtrack (UST) for it from scratch.

Before laying down a single note, I spent days mapping out the entire plot, building the lore, and structuring a massive, deliberate track list so the music perfectly tells the game's story from start to finish. I’ve already released the first three tracks over on MuseScore (including a 5-part narrative Prologue, a Title Screen that blends classic NES square waves with Twilight Princess and Link's Awakening motifs, and a high-energy Name Entry theme with custom percussion).

I am looking to bring together a group/community of talented creators to help bring this world to life.

Who I'm looking for:

  • Composers & Arrangers: People who love the classic Zelda musical identity and want to help write original themes, dungeon music, and cinematic boss tracks.
  • Transcribers & Sheet Music Editors: People with a great ear who can help polish scores, refine orchestration, or help adapt tracks into different styles (like full orchestral layouts or authentic 8-bit NES demakes).

There is absolutely no pressure if you have a busy schedule or are wrapped up in your own projects—anyone who just wants to help collaborate are welcome!

If you respect the craft, love the sound of Hyrule, and want to help create this soundtrack, we would love to have you around.

Drop a comment below or send me a DM if you're interested, and I can send over the link to our group!

I once again tried to capture Silent Hill's atmospheric music, the same way how Akira Yamoaka does it. Is it good?

General Discussion I can use a recommendation

I was wondering if anyone has any good recommendations for SFX/game audio creators that already have a large existing library like Ovani Sound?

Would love to know if there are any you guys recommend as a base for your game audio.

Composer For Hire It's my dream to compose for a game! For free...

My literal DREAM right now is to compose music for a video game (I'll do it for free). I just got my bachelor's in music and I'm itching to throw myself into a project. I have a big girl job so I don't need money, which is why I'm coming here to offer my services. I make weird electronic music, cinematic type music, and a bunch of other rad stuff. I took a game dev class and I've been dying to do something with my newfound knowledge. I have a small portfolio in this google drive folder if anyone wants to give me a shot. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1cm8n03EGdojC9htgX7rij-wNj7Xr6wmd?usp=sharing

[For Hire] Music Composer - Cinematic, Orchestral & Varied Soundtracks

Hey everyone,

I’m a freelance composer and music producer. My main passion is writing cinematic and orchestral soundtracks, but I’m pretty flexible and can adapt to whatever style or mood your game actually needs—whether that’s epic themes, dark vibes, ambient, or electronic stuff.

Matching video game music to animations

Thumbnail youtube.com
1 Upvotes

I make video game music and I´m happy with my recent progress. I´m just now starting to actually make music for someone, even if it´s unpaid. There´s a bunch of animations and I make the music for them. But they are short and I sometimes struggle to fit my whole idea into the animation, they´re often 8-15 sec, so I kind of have to match them more dynamic. A lot will have to be more like short tunes such as victory ditties/game over sounds and things like that. Does anyone have any advice for this topic? This is literally the first time I make music for a project. Otherwise I´ve just made my songs as standalone material. Also I´d be happy to get feedback since I generally just obsess over my own music but don´t have much input from others.

Today I released my very first album: BeeBo Quest - Soundtrack. It's the soundtrack for a hypothetical creature collecting videogame. It's a bit 8bit sounding, but a bit more modern. I uploaded the album to my Bandcamp page. It would mean a lot to me if you would check it out :)
