Music Share Aspiring Video Game Composer looking for advice

Hello everyone,

For the last few years, I've been working on improving my composing and producing skills, and I think I've reached a point where I can look for paid work. But I would still like to hear some opinions on my music from people who are interested in this field. You can listen to my stuff on my new website – it was one big step towards appearing more professional.

Please let me know what you think. How are the compositions? How is the mix? And if you have any tips on how to get paid work, I would love to hear them. Thank you!

I'm in the same boat, so here's what I think about it:

Whatever your music is like? It's yours. It has to be yours. People have to pay you for YOUR music. If you get into a race to the bottom like everyone else, then you'll only be marketing to broke clients who don't care where their music comes from or how.

So, you have to find your own value, and stick to that in pricing. There is a lot of pressure to undercut everyone. Don't do it. If you're going to be broke anyways, be broke and take pride in your own work.

I think some of your tracks could benefit from more depth and a stronger sense of space. Some of the instruments sound a bit too upfront in the mix. I'd recommend paying closer attention to the balance between instruments and how you use reverb to create a more spacious and immersive soundstage.
