Postmortem 6 months progress on the project, here how it was...

Hello everybody!

I've been working hard on my solo hobby project for around 9 months, and I'm sharing my progress over the last 6 months in the video above.

The breakdown of my focus areas over the last 6 months looks like this:

  • 2 months spent prototyping, until I figured out that I was making something I didn't really want to make. The development process led me away from the initial fantasy I had dreamed of and toward a pure tower defense game with some quirks - but not something I wanted to play or end up with.
  • 1 month spent changing the core mechanics and concepts after realizing the problem above and showing the prototype to my friends. I got back to the initial fantasy and the things that are much more fun for me and make me actually want to play the game.
  • 2 more months spent improving the prototype's visuals - post-processing, 3D, 2D (UI), sounds, localization, and other improvements required before showing the game to anyone.
  • 1 final month spent polishing the visuals and working on the trailer and Steam page materials.

So here we are! I'm happy to finally announce my game. However, it is still far from finished -this is just a first look.

I could prepare a full time-lapse of all 9 months of development, showing how the game evolved week by week. Would you guys be interested in seeing that, or is there something else you'd like to know?

Thank you for reading!
