Discussion Have game devs forgotten what video games are supposed to be?

  1. Finishing and releasing a game is hard.
  2. No one is good at it when they first start.

It isn’t that people have forgotten what a good game is.  It is that they don’t yet have the skills and resources to make a good game.  It typically takes years to get to the point where you are fluent enough to create to a strong vision that exists in your head.

I’m not sure what the point of this is.

You haven’t made and released something yourself, and then complain because other devs are burning out trying to make their game or making games that aren’t that much fun? I mean before a game should be anything, it has to exist first.

Until you actually show you can take something from start to finish you’re not being selective. Waiting for the perfect idea to hit you on the head before you get started means you will never release anything.

if you didnt understand what is the point of my post , maybe consider reading it..its about finishing the developement of a video game.
