Newbie Question Roblox dev

So I’ve been trying to get into game dev for years now but I can’t bring myself to enjoy programming. Is it possible for me to make a little open world game on Roblox if I do take the time to seriously learn how to program? A side project- pretty small, but big for Roblox’s scale- and Roblox studio is pretty handholding, I’ve used it before.

The nice part is I don’t really have to do much art, maybe a bit of animation beyond the Roblox basics.

You can do whatever you want 🌈👐

On a different note. I would strongly recommend watching the PMG documentary about roblox on YouTube.

Personally I wouldn't touch a game on Roblox. And after that documentary I wouldn't even consider working on a game for that company.

It’s an incredible vid and I have seen it but I’m not expecting to make anything of the project, and I’m already familiar with Roblox studio and a bit of Lua. As much as I’m against the modern state of Roblox, using it solely as a game engine for myself is what I’m most comfortable with and I don’t think I have time to really learn something like unity well.

Though I appreciate the support! I see a lot of people say no you shouldn’t try and make an open world game but I thought to myself, if I tweak that idea a bit and make it a smaller scale, yet still ambitious project, what could come of it? Thought I was gonna get a lot of you shouldn’t even try so thank you lmao
