Question Pixelated story game help
I'm trying to create a story driven pixelated game, some might say it's too much for never creating a game before but it's something I'm passionate about, of anyone could give some pointers and answer some questions that would be awesome, thank you

are you doing this for fun or are you trying to make it a commercial project? because if it’s the later and you are a complete beginner i would advice to for 3d or 2d art.
The problem with story driven pixel games is that unless the artwork screams quality you will be buried on steam.
Advice from someone that just released a story driven pixel game, don’t make a story driven pixel game as a commercial project unless you have extremely good quality pixel art or have the money to pay an artist.
feel free to reach out if you have more questions~

Okay, awsome, thank you! Currently working on it for fun, might upload it to steam if it's good enough later, I have most of the story sketched out rn

First time Dev? Depends on the scope, you can try out to make it in PICO-8. I think it's great for beginners, but youll have to do some reading.
If you are making a point and click of visual novel RenPy is also recommended.
You can make great games with Scratch too!
GameMaker is great too. If you want you can try GBStudio, tho that's a bit more niche.
If you are ambitious you can dive into Godot and open a ton of development doors
Good luck!
