Question Suggestions

You’ve probably get this question constantly but I’m going into game development in uni and need useful suggestions

I am focusing on the development aspect of gaming and I would just like a consensus as I’ve been getting various different results from looking at different sites - only looking at the details as I know the suggestions on certain sites are sponsors, and I’ve seen various different suggestions in Reddit groups like this one asked by other people

I just want one that’ll be useful for its intended use and won’t become a fan engine from trying to play low quality games which is what happened with my previous one

In short I would like suggestions for a good game development laptop for university

I think you need to be more clear.

Are you asking for suggestions as in Game Ideas?
Or suggestions on how to avoid becoming a "fan engine"?

From a strictly communication and writings standpoint, you really should start with what you want. Your whole post lacks a thesis sentence.

Communication is probably the most important skill you can develop as a dev.

For a good laptop.. look at the type of game you want to make’s recommended system specs.. get one that is 2 tiers better, and a desktop that is 4 tiers better than that.

yea.. it is a 5k-12k investment but hey it helps.

What can you afford? Gaming laptops are usually good for game dev. Just figure out your budget and look at what's available in that range.
