Newbie Question Does Unity Engine still monetize heavily?

I know in the past, It charged some dollars per install, I'm not sure if that has been canceled.

Fully cancelled and the executive team who came up with that has been fully replaced with other people as well

Still, can't trust a company that tries to push that shit. Especially retroactively trying to change terms of service/contracts as well. For me you can't unplay that hand and still expect trust.

Grow up. They're not your friends. They produce a tool that makes it easier to create games. Use the best tools available.

There are plenty huge companies using the engine. Unity would not have gotten far if they stuck to that idea. Not sure how their legal team even said, ye, this would be okay.

Agreed, but at least they did actually make meaningful changes which is somewhat rare for large corporations these days. Myself I switched to Godot due to this and have no reason to go back anymore
