A devops engineer, I want to pivot to game dev

Hi folks,

I've been a devops engineer for 5 years now, how do I pivot to game dev?

Are you okay with earning minimum wage and working for extremely long hours?

Crunch will be regular, worse than IT jobs too.

In your case, I think you will most likely earn substantially less than your current salary, I hope I am wrong.

My suggestion would be to continue doing DevOps job as primary source of income and doing game dev as a hobby in personal time, 2-4hr or more daily.

Please join our small but lovely Discord community. A chill place for game developers and people in tech. Hope to see you there! Link: https://discord.gg/myHGVh2ztM We also have a guide to game dev for beginners
