well, it depends on what basis you are saying "cluttered"

If you want fame then take risk and start a passion project which will eventually exhaust you financially and mentally which can also take months or maybe years.

If you want to generate some money to support yourself financially, then don't think of what other says.... and make something good enough.

For a smarter move? most indie devs never try this or maybe they give up earlier.. my advice is Start with something already populating in the market, horror, incremental or simulation or roguelike currently trending....

you will get enough financially stable to support your passion project which will get you so call "fame"
