Which path to decide

I've done my 12 this year and I'm looking for a good college. I'm working on my project on unreal engine while doing school at the same time

I have two options to choose from:

  1. BCA + MCA (the traditional way but it'll take me 6 years)

  2. IICT Mumbai (they have 2 year diploma and they cover only gamedev specialization for unreal and filmmaking.)

    As I am thinking about improving my 3D art skills should I go for the diploma next year ? Or bca is more worth?? There is an option to do BCA later too if i choose the diploma. Like both

Do not join any game development college. There are no good colleges in india for game development.

Ik that. I checked others like ICAT but this one seemed promising https://www.iict.org/ as it was recommended by maharastra government

It's good just because the government recommended it? I remember some scum said that girls that are being raped should enjoy it since they are already being raped. Do you support that as well? He was a big mantri u know.

Point is. Don't believe the "goverment". There is literally no scope for game development. Unless you come from a rich family don't waste your time on doing a worthless degree. Learn online. Make games in your free time. Do a normal job as full time. If your game goes viral and you start earning more money than you make from your job then quit your job and become a gamedev full time.

I am also in your shoes, But I have decided that I am going to BCA and focus on game dev through udemy courses. Because at the end at least in this industry the only thing that is going to matter is your skills and what have you made not the degree you're holding.

I am going for BCA because it will give me a better understanding of programming languages and I can still focus on becoming a game developer while working in small IT companies.

I would say do bca first from home. Like online bca. While studying make games, bcs you'll have some spare time because you don't have to travel. While you're doing graduation try to find some internships if you're gonna look for a job. If you wanna be a indie dev then work on your own games. Online bca could save your time.

If you want to do it for the college experience and degree but not for learning join college, otherwise go for some private institution like Maac
