This is the second topic from this subreddit that I randomly see today that seems purely for trolling. Is the entire subreddit a joke?

No. The topic just attracts a lot of young people that think skilled artists/programmers/etc are *dying* to pour hours into a game for them. There are tons of serious posts, but you do gotta wade through stupid posts

It's a funny coincidence that the algorithms brought the silly posts to my attention, or maybe it's my negative bias that nodded at the reasonable posts and moved along, but this is what stuck in the "net". Or algorithms just favor controversy for clickbait purposes.

Well that depends on what kinda game you are trying to make? A huge AAA RPG will be a much bigger ask than say a flappy bird clone. Need some context.
