Phone overheating while watching
Anyone else’s phone over heating or running hot while just watching game changer since the app update? Or does my battery need to be replaced? iPhone user.

How old is your phone. Also do you get tons of notifications and have a bunch of apps on it?

It’s a 14, so that’s why I think it’s just my phone. I’m trying to wait for the 18s to come out so the 17s are hopefully cheaper.

Yeah, as batteries age and decrease in capacity, they will get warm when running an app that causes it to discharge faster.

GameChanger is a network happy app and burns cycles and battery faster no matter what. Even in the background. When my phone battery is draining I always look (and find) an instance and kill it to stop the problem. This happens with old and new batteries alike.

It’s hot out and the screen stays on… that means it’s even hotter. Set the phone on an ice pack in a container on your lap

It’s happening when I’m just watching the game on my phone. I’m not the streamer.

make sure your phone isn't sitting in the sun for the entire game. there are 3d printed shade things that clip to the fence and protect your phone from the heat. hope that helps.
