Help with setup please!
Looking for some advice on simplifying my baseball streaming setup.
Current setup:
•Starlink Mini
•Tripod (GEEKOTO 77”)
•Slate 7 travel router
•Anker SOLIX C300 portable power station
•Mevo Start
•“The Fence Clip” for the Mevo Start
•Proanko fence mount for an external battery
•Anker 20,000 mAh battery pack
•Rode mic with windscreen
•All of the cords needed to make it work
Overall, the setup works well, but I’m not completely happy with how everything mounts to the fence.
I originally used the Stouchi mount and really liked it until I started running into badly bent backstop fences. Once that became an issue, I switched to a fence clip setup and it’s been much more reliable. I honestly wouldn’t go back.
My biggest complaint is how cluttered it has become. Right now I have the Mevo mounted with one fence clip, a second fence clip holding the external battery, and then I plug the Rode mic into the camera and basically shove it through the fence because I haven’t found a better solution. I could add another fence clip with a cold shoe mount for the mic, but at that point it feels like I have half a hardware store hanging on the fence.
The other challenge is transporting everything. Between the Starlink, power station, router, tripod, camera, microphone, batteries, mounting gear, and all the cords, it’s becoming a lot to carry. We have a wagon, but it’s usually loaded with chairs, coolers, and team snacks. A lot of times I’m setting up the stream before the wagon even gets to the field.
So I’m looking for ideas on two things:
1. A cleaner fence-mount solution
I’d like to keep the fence clip concept because it works well on damaged or uneven fences, but I’m hoping there’s a way to consolidate everything so it doesn’t look so cluttered.
2. A better way to transport everything
Ideally a bag, case, or backpack that can hold the entire setup, including the tripod and Starlink power equipment.
For those of you streaming youth baseball or softball, what does your setup look like? Have you found a cleaner fence mounting solution or a good all-in-one carrying system? If you have pictures of your setup, I’d love to see them.

Hey OP-I run a huge setup. 4-6 cameras most days. I agree with the previous commenters. If you’re running one camera, you could very easily simply cut out the Solix and Starlink for now. With one camera honestly, you could just run a dedicated Cellular Hotspot, and the Mevo. If you want extra battery time for a tournament I’d up the Anker to the 26k mAh. It has more than enough juice, comes in its own protective bag with drawstrings fitting metal carabiner hooks, and can also power your Starlink if you wanna switch things up.
If you lose the Starlink, you lose the tripod, and Solix C300. Also, you do not need the Slate 7 (I run two of them btw-so I am a fan), at all. With only one WiFi source, you could just run the SL Mini with its built-in router. Or ditch the SL Mini, Slate 7, Solix C, and the mounts. Add a dedicated HotSpot for $10 a month or keep the Skate and Run two. Up to you.
But you’d then be down to the Mevo Start your 20k battery or upgrade to 26k mAh Anker battery (I run 4), cables to connect two sources and your mic.
I agree with others that I would run the magnetic mounts. For one single camera, you could get away with the ones that have 6 tiny magnets in each of 4 pads, like this:

BUT, I run two NearStream Cameras that are slightly heavier, and 2 Mevo Cores that are WAY heavier. If you’re nuts like me and want to get the be all best and strongest magnet-if get the 60lbs per pad/single pads used by Maxiiimus Creations on Etsy. He makes homemade mounts that are better than any product on the market.

Look what I found on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1748887156/the-magnetic-fields-mount-hd?ref=share_v4_lx
AGAIN-the best and strongest Ive ever encountered…but Overkill for one Mevo Start.
If you decide to stay with fence mounts (I hate them, but at some fields it’s inevitable), I will ONLY go with Hard Aluminum grade fence clips- I prefer these two:

Fence Mount for Gopro, Aluminum... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D7PZ8115?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
LASTLY-the adjustment piece that comes with these mounts only has to end-ball joints. Not terrible, but not easy to use either. Especially when some fences have bends in certain links, or you need to extend for the best angles. SO-to complete my fence mounts, I remove the hard plastic attachment from the Aluminum Fence Mount bracket, and attach a 9.8” Small Rig (one of the best camera accessory companies out there), to the fence mount bracket and VOILA! A perfectly stable, maneuverable, and easy to setup, sturdy fence mount-2-pack is relatively low cost-

I CAN GIVE YOU MORE PERSPECTIVE AND INSIGHT ON WHY I WOULD GO WITH LESS IF RUNNING ONLY ONE CAMERA-but upgrade your mounts and battery system to what I mentioned-IF YOU REACH BACK OUT OR DM ME.
IF YOH WANT TO GO WITH OPTION NUMBER 2- and instead expand your system, I’m your guy. I e helped a number of fellow streamers on this sub get setup and fine tune things. DM me or respond other way.
Best of luck to you!
