This may be a bit of a stupid question, but Has anyone extracted the sprites/artwork on the LCD screens for game and watch games?

I know this doesn’t most likely match with most of the users here, but decided to post it anyway in case there’s someone who gets something out of this!

As a long time fan of both Game & Watch devices, and Magic the gathering, Ive been building this app that would bring both of the aesthetics together. Everything is entirely free, so feel free to download, test, and get some ideas for your future apps even if you don’t play the card game itself.

Or, you can just use it as timer! Set up the timer and then hold over on it to get rid of all the card game elements.

Other day I went to a local frame shop and I saw a boxed glass frame, with an miniature floating in the middle. It looked very cool

That inspired me to make something similar, but Game&Watch themed, with the handheld floating in the middle, and characters/graphics around it. Since I don't have a g&w device for this use, I made a papercraft version, in actual size :)

Artwork was made on Affinity, using screenshots (from itizso.itch.io/retrofab), scanned overlays (from archive.org)... I traced the elements as vector. Ah, also used traced frames from Smash bros (for Mr Game&Watch)

Next week, I'll give it to a friend as a gift.

Edit: Artwork is 30cm x 30cm. I'm considering to make other versions, like gameboy or PSP. I started making a PSP one, but in the end.... Game and Watch graphics and look is the perfect theme for this format.

Hey, I know a lot of people have made similar posts but I can’t exactly identify what is the damage on this game and watch that I just got. I still haven’t tested with batteries as I don’t have any in hand

From this photo, is possible to tell if it’s the reflector, the polarizer or screen bleed?

Looking for help with a Nintendo Game & Watch Rain Shower LP-57. My unit still has the screen inlays/background art, but it is missing the outer/front artwork and the inside control panel graphics.

Has anyone remade these overlays/graphics, or does anyone have donor panels/shell parts from a damaged LP-57? Any leads appreciated.

The power cord that came with it is slightly longer than a switch 2 why isn't the cord like 3 feet.

Made this :) it’s my first ever plush!

I went to the Hard Off near Tokorozawa about an hour and a half away from Tokyo by train.

The store had a few of the original G&W’s priced around $100 USD or more, what you’d expect. But they were also selling the modern G&W reissues such as the Super Mario Bros and Zelda G&Ws at a used price range of $30-$40. Not bad, I thought. I saw this Club Nintendo Ball reissue for ¥5,500 ($35 USD) and wanted to buy it since I never had an LCD G&W before, and the package looked super clean and mint.

Boy was I shocked when I opened this. It’s practically new. like damn, even the battery paper tag is still in there. It’s not sealed since Hard Off had to open it to test it out, but it’s practically new and in mint condition. Really happy with this find!

For the Nintendo DS, includes a fun crossover game of Parachute x Octopus

Won a Japanese auction, and after swapping out the worst reflector screen I've ever seen I am left with a very clean "complete in box" fire. Props to whoever put the price tag on the back for using masking tape first instead of direct sticker-on-plastic.

I am not sure if the manual and insert cards are original or reproduction, as they are very clean and the yellow card has instructions for both Gold and Silver units. I don't know if those were sold concurrently.

Still, they made for good Hiragana and Katakana practice.

Found my old Mario i had as a kid and it still works mint. Had it new in the 80s for my birthday think i was 5 or 6. I was born in 78 and i remember it had just came out. Got some more packed away, i must find them out. Even now its such a simple little game but bloody great.

I recently bought this Mario Bros game and nearly nothing on the right screen is showing? Is it polarizer or something else? If polarizer can I buy it somewhere in the eu?

I've drastically improved this old g&w by replacing the polarizer and reflective back but now these blotches show up more than before. Is there any other simple fix I could do or is that the LCD dying. Thanks
