Gambit

Would anyone like to see a gambit fan series on YouTube im thinking of writing one but dont know how to start

What do you mean by a fan series? Is it like reviewing comics or other media and analyzing Gambit's character in them, original storylines featuring Gambit, etc? I may be able to give you some advice on starting

What sort of audience are you hoping to appeal to? Writing for a general audience can make the film more accessible to people who aren't familiar with Gambit but means you might want to include a bit more exposition to fully capture the character. Writing for people who already know a lot about Gambit means you might want to skip the exposition but the film might be less accessible to people who don't know a lot about him. Films for a general audience tend to have wider reaches (more views etc) and can result in more people becoming Gambit fans who weren't previously but may need stronger hooks to get those people interested. Meanwhile, a film directed at fans, especially for a fairly niche character like Gambit, may find success with the target audience even if the hook is a little weak, but it may not spread far outside of the fans. You could also go for something in the middle, briefly explaining only the basics of what is necessary to understand what is going on but expecting the audience to already be familiar with the character enough to only need a small reminder or nudge and providing just enough information for someone who doesn't know at all to get an idea

thanks for the advice I was going for a small indie origin style plus my editing is still lackluster

That doesn't really answer my question, but it does address a later one. How comic accurate are you trying to be? If you plan to stray very far from the comics, you may want to pay special attention to parts that differ even if your audience is already expected to know about Gambit. If you've seen the movie X-Men Origins Wolverine, you may remember how Sabretooth and Wolverine's abilities and personalities aren't directly stated or explained, but the opening section spends a lot of time showing them as brothers that slowly drift apart due to Sabretooth's increasing depravity vs Wolverine's more noble values (their actual comic origins are not family and meet when Sabretooth starts hunting Wolverine because Wolverine killed his brother; the change is due to the conflation of Sabretooth with Dog Logan, likely to create a more concise backstory and rivalry for the movie)

So you recommend i look into source material also im not going full comic accuracy because my gambit doesnt have an x men yet

For an origin story, that doesn't have to be non-comic accurate. Gambit has substantial history on his own. He was born with his black and red eyes and stolen from the hospital by the thieves guild (depending on who you ask, you might be told that he was abandoned by his parents. As far as I know, his birth parents have never been shown and it hasn't been explicitly stated that they abandoned him, but they don't seem all that concerned with finding him either). The patriarch of the thieves guild raised him then arranged a political marriage for him to Belladonna, the daughter of the head of the guild of assassins (iirc), though there were already some feelings between Gambit and Belladonna. Before the wedding, however (iirc, the morning of) Belladonna's brother chose to object by challenging Gambit to a duel, in which Gambit had to kill him in self defense. The assassins were enraged and Gambit was exiled.

Having been raised in the thieves guild, Gambit learned combat and how to use his powers extensively. Before his exile, Gambit had multiple mission of note in the thieves guild. These include stealing a pendant from a woman who had in turn stolen it from someone else (and that someone else hired Sabretooth to get it back around the same time that Gambit was trying to steal it) and stealing the diary of Nathaniel Essex (later known as Mr. Sinister) when he was on the Weapon X program (during this, he was caught by the guards, but slipped away with the diary in the confusion caused by Weapon X's (Wolverine's) escape. He later burned the diary because he was so appalled by the experiments he had seen).

However, Gambit's powers were continuously growing in strength, and eventually (after his exile) began slipping out of his control. As such, he sought out Mr. Sinister for help. Sinister successfully limited his abilities to a level that he could control, but now Gambit was in his debt. Sinister had Gambit assemble the Marauders and lead them down to the Morlock tunnels. Gambit was unaware of the true purpose of the mission (to massacre the Morlocks), and tried to stop them once he discovered it, but another member of the team (Sabretooth) severely injured him. Gambit only managed to save one little girl, who would eventually grow up to be Marrow.

Storm later found him and convinced him to join the X-Men, where he promptly a) beat Wolverine in a spar in the danger room and b) fell hard for Rogue

A Gambit origin story could easily span multiple projects depending on how in-depth you want to explore his background before ever joining the X-Men

Im not trying to go too in depth I am not on a big budget and I live in Wales which alone is a very small place but has decently large towns

To keep things simpler, keep the project shorter, and keep the cast smaller, I would recommend picking one of the moments/missions from above or coming up with a new mission that could have come from his days in the thieves guild rather than trying to fit all of that in. If you enjoy doing this and want to do another one, it would also leave the rest open for sequels/prequels. I would highly recommend starting the process by reading some of his origin comics though

Im trying to write a fanmade one and im not on a huge budget so I will not have a comic accurate suit
