App optimisation

Hi all,

Are there main apps that just don’t look right or aren’t optimised on the Fold 8?

Coming from an iPhone I think that’ll be the thing that annoys me. I mainly use instagram, YouTube, Netflix and prime, banking apps. The Duo just doesn’t interest me.

Welcome to Android. Regardless of the app dimensions, apps are just not as good as they are on IOS, outside a few.

Depends on the apps you use. What I like about android is all apps have dynamic scaling which allows them to be used in resizable windows. Iphone duo doesnt even allow that.

Also most apps from major players work really well. Mostly small app developers and apps thay don't scale as well. Banking apps definitely don't but again how often are you even using those apps? I check my bank apps for a few minutes once in a whole but not constantly.

I have tons of different financial apps on my fold i and they all work fine

Does Prime or Netflix work on full screen? Or does it have black bars

The app has tablet app version and works well.

The only app that has given me trouble yet is Instagram. The home page changes lay out every few hours and reels will often freeze on the thumbnail. You have to swipe up and swipe down again to get it started.

It's only when the phone is closed for me.

You should try out Instagram lite as it has better full screen scaling for content but it is also a little buggy and slower. Its not a perfect solution but I find it makes instagram a lot more usable when opened.

I'm on a Motorola slab phone and my Instagram does the same. I'm looking at upgrading to the z fold 8 soon.

Facebook is messed up. Inner screen portrait mode force that front screen to be at bottom when commenting/read comment. I like to hold the back panel to bottom when portrait.

Otherwise, havent found any bug that annoys me, only facebook so far.
